On the 8th day of the 12 Trees of Christmas…. it is all about those beautiful rosy tones and bringing a bit of blush into the Christmas mix.
Blush is often a color that many people think won’t work for Christmas. It is not traditional like red and green- and blush and pinks can seem like they would be too ‘sweet’ for holiday stylings.
But I tend to think of blush as a soft color neutral. To me it is a warm and welcoming color- one that feels like it is a softer shade of richer pink and it can be used with darker more bold colors as well as with whites and creams.

Layers and shades
As with almost all the trees we have been talking about this year- it is all about layers and shades to create that beautiful designer look. On this tree- we have those beautiful blush velvet ornaments mixed with soft colored pearl & white and glitter ornaments.
Add a touch of color
You will also notice the touch of color I brought in with a beautiful Burgundy. Burgundy is like red and more traditional for Christmas- but without that ‘bold’ color that red brings. So- kind of like a soft bold on the tree- it adds a depth to the decorations.
Mix Finishes
Choose ornaments that have different sheens and finishes to also create that layered look. Mercury glass, matte, pearl, shiny and even vintage- all add another bit of interest and depth of color when using blush. Some of my favorite new ornaments this year are the Winter Wishes– full of velvety beautiful goodness, and rose gold glitter and gorgeous vintage inspired color ornaments.
Bring in a metallic
A touch of gold or copper will set those blush colors off perfectly. I used gold pip berry picks on this tree to bring in that rich warm color- and I love how the berries seem to ‘float’ just a bit in between the branches.
