Fresh linens and a fresh look for spring

Happy first day of spring!
Spring always brings thoughts of blooms and freshness-
and it seems like a perfect time to chat about a few ideas for refreshing your home.

And today we are in the bedroom and talking about
just a few changes that are easy to do.

No heavy lifting, moving and shaking
or paint brushes and drips on your hardwood floors. (don't ask)
Think simple & beautiful.

I am pretty sure that if you had a magic wand... you could change a room by just by
waving it in the air.  Though, I seem to have misplaced mine...
but thankfully, there is no need for magic wands for this refresh.
When it comes to a new look in a room like a bedroom-
it is as easy as 1,2,3.

#1. Bring in fresh linens.

Yes, the linens.
Chunky knits, matelasse charm and little pleated details galore.

I wanted something warm and pretty.
With blush and natural linen
and a sprinkling of gold.

There is something about that combination that absolutely takes my breath away.
It feels romantic and regal all at the same time.

I started with the basics.
That gorgeous blush matelasse quilt that is oversized and fabulous.

Look how far it hangs down on my bed- perfection.
I am so used to short linens that just don't quite make the cut- and they can be aggravating-
but this one is perfect.

I layered it over a dainty delicate pleated duvet cover.
When it is chilly, I can pull the quilt up.
When it is warmer- it can look gorgeous folded at the foot of the bed.

#2. Add a bit of gorgeous texture

Another favorite for layering on a bed is anything and everything that has a chunky, nubby detail.
This throw talked to me from the moment I saw it. I have been looking for the perfect soft yellow
full of chunky texture throw for my bed for awhile now- and hello gorgeous!

Again- this one is over sized- and can lay across my king bed perfectly.

But it is that texture that is amazing... this is hand knit and so chunky and warm
and Sweet Pea is a big fan as well.

I am a fan of heavy blankets on my bed- and this one is perfect.
Just a note - color wise, it is kind of like a French Vanilla yellow
though the color says Sand- which is exactly what I was looking for.

#3. Details, details, details

Layered with this gorgeous candlewick linen pillow- with all those embroidered details,
that blush and vanilla mix and match in the loveliest of ways.

I love that this lumbar pillow adds texture and interest without being 'loud' color wise.

It is absolutely stunning- and it is quietly, absolutely stunning.
Which is kind of my favorite thing in design- and people really.
I am not a fan of loud and boisterous or outspoken braggy types.
Quiet. Self assured. Beauty and elegance and poise- all speaking for themselves.
Without saying a word.

 It is definitely perfect.

And I love it layered with white ruffled linen and those natural linen euro shams.
And these pretty little striped shams that remind me of old dishtowel linens.

I am waiting on a couple more things to arrive yet but couldn't wait to share some of the pretty appearing already.

And remember when updating your space- you don't have to update several things all at once.
You can bring in a few new throw pillows for a beautiful fresh look
or that chunky knit throw to add a pretty accent.
And keep layering until you get the look you love.
