Oh those porches dressed for spring and summer style are so pretty! There is just something about porch steps covered in potted plants or the front door decorated with a blooming wreath that just says hello and welcomes guests beautifully. Our cottage has window boxes on nearly every window and so when spring brings the sweetness of chirping birds & blossoming trees – those window boxes are replanted for the year. And since they frame the front entry- the front porch decor needs to be cohesive. The biggest challenge with front porch decor is keeping it simple and easy to decorate quickly & keeping it looking good without a lot of upkeep. Today we are talking about just that with 5 ideas for simple and beautiful five minute porch decor ideas.
Five Minute Porch Decor Ideas

Okay, five minute decor ideas give or take a bit. They are really more about an idea that can be done quickly and give you a beautiful look in a snap. No heavy lifting and hours decorating- more like plopping into place quickly and calling it good. It works well to decorate any room for the seasons and the porch is always one of my favorites. My first go to look? Potted blooms on repeat.

Pots of Pretty
Lavender, hydrangeas, ivy, blooms- you name it. Bring all those pots of pretty out and decorate the porch steps for a blooming porch view. This can be with fresh potted plants or with faux to achieve the look.

Whatever type of flowers or greenery you decide to decorate with- the key is various pots on repeat. I chose wood baskets & wood buckets for this faux lavender look- you can see more of this porch decor HERE– but you can use any type of potted pretties that you would like for a blooming beautiful porch.
A Blooming Wreath
A blooming wreath can be just the perfect touch if you don’t want a lot of pots or garlands on your front door. I am partial to this one since it is part of my Marseille Meadows collection with Balsam Hill- but any of the wreaths you adore can be perfect and perfectly spring blooming beautiful. A tip is to make sure that the front door wreath you choose is outdoor safe or will be under a covered porch area to keep it looking good.

Hanging Baskets

When layering flowers and pretty plants for your porch- don’t forget the layers above. If you have a covered porch or a pergola or trellis above- think hanging baskets. Whether they are fresh flowers or faux flowers like these- a tip is to put those baskets on repeat visually. Line them along the front of the porch or layer them in various inside and outside areas for a charming look. You can see all the details & links for this blooming porch HERE

A ‘London inspired’ blooming door
Because those blooming doorscapes in London are always so beautiful and welcoming- why not create one of your own? This was such a fun look for spring from several years ago- I created this door ‘arch’ using garlands and baskets at the base. It looks much more involved than it was- those garlands were held into place with nails and just layered right on top of each other with baskets at the base to fill in the lower areas.
