Beautiful blooms and beautiful table settings go hand in hand. And when it comes to spring table centerpieces- something that creates a little magic filled moment on the table is a cabbage flower arrangement.

Seriously so easy to create and seriously so beautiful. I am sharing this lovely little blooming cabbage for your table.
Spring Cabbage Flower Arrangement
I am quite obsessed with creating beautiful blooming centerpieces and a cabbage as a vessel is always such a fun one. The key to this blooming cabbage is simply what inspires you. I started with a purple cabbage- but you can of course use a green if you prefer. And I picked up a couple of bunches of beautiful blooms that were talking to me at our local Trader’s – for this one it was those delightful garden roses in a pop of pretty peachy pink, lilacs and hyacinths with some wax flowers.

A tip for choosing your flowers: You don’t need specialty blooms- use what inspires you or what mingles well with the table setting colors and elements you would like to use.
What You Need
- Cabbage – one or more depending on how many you need for your table
- Flowers- your choice of beautiful blooms
- Foliage if you would like- think eucalyptus, herbs or something clipped from your yard
- A knife for carving the cabbage
- Florist foam
Little Louis one of our chickens joined me as I was working on this cabbage- he is such a sweet boy. I highly recommend doing this cabbage project with an assistant chicken. Makes it that much more fun. ❤️

Carve your Cabbage
I will admit, this one may not be the easiest if you don’t have a suitable sharp knife and skills. It is a bit like carving a pumpkin- but can be harder with all the layers of cabbage you need to remove. Safety first always- Go slow and Be Careful while carving the hole for the flowers. Once you have removed enough cabbage for flowers to sit in, place a piece of florist foam inside. Florist foam helps give structure to the flowers while also providing water when it is soaked. You can also use a small vessel for water tucked inside and a chicken wire or flower frog if you prefer. Side note- purple cabbage will stain everything- from your hands to your table to your cloth.

Start placing your flowers
Place each stem into the foam- some in the center, some on each side. Some cut longer for more drape and some shorter for adding oomph.

I used lilacs, garden roses, wax flowers and a couple of hyacinths. Keep adding flowers until you get the fullness and look you like for your table. You can bring in longer, arching type flowers for more width or something taller like a foxglove for some height- the possibilities are endless and up to your own creative eye.
Fresh Herbs
To show how it would look with some fresh foliage included- I tucked in a few sprigs of rosemary that I grabbed from the garden. Think Lavender, Rosemary or Thyme for a fresh herb foliage touch. So there you have a lovely little cabbage flower arrangement for your spring or Easter table.

What do you think of how this turned out? Let me know if you will be making one too.
Happy Monday friends.
