When it comes to all things flower magic, I am all about it. I love all the fresh flowers, and all the flower covered things like chairs, curtains, bedding and dainty little settees. So of course when I spotted this darling little vintage vanity, I messaged about buying it immediately. It is BEYOND lovely and has already inspired me so.
Vintage Floral Skirted Vanity
Can we just talk about how darling this is? I mean, the epitome of romantic vintage charm in a dainty little package. It literally had me at hello. The listing popped up in my feed on marketplace and all it said was ‘Vanity and Stool’ but the photo caught my attention instantly. And the price? Insane.
Ruffles and Romance
I am a sucker for old romantic style and ruffled are the epitome of that on furniture. I do tend to fall in love with vintage ruffled floral chintz so you know that this piece was a yes for me bringing home.
When I messaged the seller, I simply said we wanted to come pick it up. I didn’t ask about size, age, condition, it literally was just going in the truck if it was available. We went to pick it up later that morning. It needs a little bit of cleaning in areas- there are some old stains, but honestly, it is lovely old condition and already I have thought of several places to tuck it. Originally there was kidney shaped glass on the top to protect the fabric, but the seller said it was broken years earlier. The little stool has a mingled vintage floral fabric top and a large pleated skirt that is not currently attached- I need to find a piece of elastic to be able to use it but will share the finished look soon.
Skirted Vanity Dressers
Recently, skirted vanity dressers or desks have had a resurgence in design. While there are some of us who are always romantic at heart with, the English cottage or French cottage style that leans towards what is now known as ‘grandmacore’ style has brought back the nostalgic charm to our homes. Layers of patterns and lovely vintage style has moved on in again. Kind of like the 90’s chintz floral craze, it is all about those old fashioned flowers and sweetness- this takes me right back to my childhood bedroom. But I love this style for all ages personally and think if something speaks to you, it deserves a place in your home.
I set this beautiful little treasure up in the living room in front of a beautiful antique mirror, but it was just here for a few photos and will be on the move to my bedroom to mingle with the layers of vintage Ralph Lauren and French antiques.This set was one of my favorite finds recently and is also a very inexpensive marketplace treasure at just $10.
