Vintage swan statuary is always a lovely touch in the garden and a favorite thing is to bring the outside in for a charming moment of seasonal magic. We used this swan and hydrangea centerpiece as one of the end pages in my new book ‘French Country Cottage Seasons’ and I thought I would share a closer look at it.
Vintage Swan
This swan planter was a marketplace find that I absolutely adored when I found it. It is a large planter and I knew it would be beautiful filled with plants, but also, filled with other things like Christmas ornaments and dried flowers. For this autumn inspired styling, it was all about those dried hydrangeas.
Tip: Search marketplace, Etsy and eBay and other listings online for vintage swan planters. You an also shop yard sales and thrift stores or go to a shop that sells fountains or statues to see what they might have.
Dried Hydrangeas
I filled the swan with dried hydrangeas for a beautiful seasonal look.
Tip: I scored some of these hydrangeas at HomeGoods in their dried floral section and but you can find them at places like Etsy where folks that have an abundance of them will often sell bunches of them dried and ready to use.
Heirloom pumpkins
Gathered around both sides of the swan centerpiece, a few small heirloom pumpkins are tucked in to add even more seasonal charm. A perfect look for an autumn inspired gathering.
