Sometimes it is the littlest of things that make a big impact in a room. And you know, in a world of long curtains reaching from the crown molding to the floor- I think you can be a cafe curtain and add just as much oomph to a room. Like these sweet vintage inspired cafe curtains that I might have added to a half a dozen windows recently.

Cafe Curtains
Cafe curtains can get a bad rap sometimes. They can be considered dated or frou-frou depending on the material. Old lace or crochet cafe curtains? I will admit, I love them and have brought panels home from the thrifts when I find them. But I also love linen and the lovely sheer look it brings. Recently, while replacing the linen curtains beneath our kitchen sink, I decided to order a few extra sets to add to the kitchen windows. And I loved the look so much- I added even more.
Vintage Inspired Curtains
While these curtains are brand new- I love that they have an old time vintage inspired feeling. They are pinch pleat curtains- which I always love – and they have such a lovely sheer look that allows all the sunshine in while softening it just a bit.
I ordered white for the kitchen and then ordered a few more for our entry sun room – though I ordered the natural linen for that room. I have had cafe curtains before but these being pinch pleat and a linen blend – they just speak to me. They also have darling ticking stripe curtains which I really debated before settling on the simple linen.

Currently I have dainty gold rods holding them up and since they are not opened and closed all the time- they have done the job. I will say that if you are planning to open and close the curtains daily or have a husband who is *maybe* not as careful as you would be around a dainty rod- I would upgrade the rods to something a bit stronger- or get over a slight bow in the middle if it happens. I have a bit of a stronger rod in the cart to replace it soon.

The best part about these curtains? They are so affordable- including the rods and they come in a whole bunch of different sizes. I just might be adding them to a couple more windows- I love how such a simple change makes the window feel like so much more cozy and warm.
What do you think of this simple addition to the kitchen?
