Something fun today… we are shopping the garden for beautiful blooming flowers and greens to create a simple summer garden foraged floral arrangement.

So much fun to be joining my friend Julie Blanner today for this inspired floral post. We are both shopping our gardens and creating an arrangement made with what we have on hand and in bloom.

This one is a favorite wee bouquet- and you know – it literally came together just as I wandered the garden. I wasn’t sure what I would be inspired to use or what was blooming- but clippers in hand- I wandered and gathered up bits of this and that to set in a vintage silver trophy. I actually love how it turned out- a bit wonky and wild in form- which is my favorite look & it has some of my favorites flowers and greens.
- Peony
- Earth Angel Garden Roses
- Cecile Brunner Climbing roses
- Hellebores
- Olive
- Mint
- Rosemary

And the best thing? I didn’t have to leave the house to get a beautiful fresh arrangement, this one was all free since it was foraged and it was created in just a few minutes.

Get the Look
Start with your greens to create a nice base for your flowers.
Note: You will notice that all of the flowers and greens are cut quite short. This is because of the container but also because some of the roses are somewhat dainty and don’t have long stems.

After you layer your greens in the base of the container- start tucking in the next largest flowers. I used the hellebores and then the peonies first.
After that- I tucked in the larger garden roses and then the climbing roses and then added any other bits I felt it needed.

I love how it turned out- a tad on the wonky and wild side (like me) haha and just such a pretty little petite arrangement for tucking anywhere.

Head on over to Julie’s video to see the beauty she has created too!
Happy Wednesday all!
So nice
Thank you!
Beautiful arrangement Courtney!
Thank you Lisa!
Your gorgeous flowers always brighten my day. Tx
Love hearing that Deb!
Very pretty!
But I’ve never seen hellebore flower in the summer! I thought HELLEBORES only flowered in late winter to Spring?
I thought so too but mine are still blooming away! It is a bit crazy! But I do remember last year when I was photographing my book that I picked up a few bunches of hellebores at the flower market and at that time- it was already the end of June- so maybe they are late bloomers here?
Just beAutiful!
Very pretty and Free, it’s a winner!
Love your florals, courtney. I’m here in San Jose, CA (zone 9b), and I the peonies I tried didn’t do well. I don’t know if you’ve already done a post about what type of peonies you grow, but I wondered if you’ve found one that will grow in CA. I moved one that survived to our cabin, zone 7A, and it seems to be doing much better. Sure would like some here in the bay area.
Hi Cindy! Gosh- I don’t know any specific one to recommend. I would try a local nursery in San Jose and see if they can point you in a direction of a variety that grows well there. I have found the smaller local nurseries to be really helpful in suggesting be the best for a specific climate.
In these trying times, your site and lovely posts are a sign of hope and happy!
So good to hear that! Thank you Annette!
