French Country Christmas Mantel
1. Fresh Greens
My favorite look for Christmas mantel stylings almost always begin with simple fresh element.s Whether that is a garland or just sprigs of fresh greens- I like the simplicity and beauty of fresh foliage. The mantel in the bedroom is my favorite place to use a fresh eucalyptus garland. This is a custom order from a vendor at the SF Flower Mart- a mix of eucalyptus, acacia and other fresh greens that mingle together perfectly.
Tip: Don’t be afraid to use fresh greens that aren’t traditionally ‘classic’ Christmas greens. Fresh eucalyptus, olive, bay and other greens are beautiful for Christmas as well.
2. Long Ribbons
I love to finish the mantel ends with long velvet ribbons. It is a simple touch that I feel adds elegance and old fashioned charm. Ribbons for Christmas also feel very European to me- you will find ribbons on most trees and mantel stylings over here.
3. Mercury Glass
For a touch of beautiful magic- I love mercury glass. I used mercury glass baubles as well as these beautiful mercury glass candle hurricanes (which I also used in the living room for a few photos)
