With the slow, reflective energies of the winter lingering around us- winter is a time of quietness and is a good time to slow down and take care of you. I think of winter season as winter restoration. A time to rejuvenate and restore energies. To focus on indulging some of those everyday magic moments and being a little more slow and intentional with creating a self care routine. Today my daughter is here to share a few ideas for self-care and how you can show yourself a little more love this season & going forward and pamper yourself in the way you deserve.

How to Create a Rejuvenating Self Care Routine
1. Do self-love practices
One of the best self-care practices you can do is to develop a self-love routine. Self-love is essential for taking care of ourselves, bringing joy to our lives, and restoring our energy.
A few things you could do for practicing self-care right now could be taking part in more of the things that bring you joy, having dedicated time to pamper yourself, buying yourself flowers, getting a massage, having a spa day, complimenting yourself and your appearance, or simply taking more time to rest. The list is endless and can be customized to whatever makes you feel loved and pampered most.

Whatever you do, now is the perfect time to start building a good self-love routine and focus on all the things that make you feel loved and beautiful.
2. Do morning face massages
One of my favorite self-care practices to do every day is morning facial massages. I usually do this with one of my favorite oils and massage my skin and lymph nodes to release build-up and help my skin feel healthier. Doing these massages every day is also great for creating glowing, tighter skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, and helping you look more youthful.
Some of my favorite oils to use for this are olive oil face oil for overall skin health, castor oil for wrinkles and hair growth on lashes and brows, and almond oil for the under-eye, but you can use whatever face oil you’d like. No matter what you use, massaging your face is a great way to boost the health of your skin and help you feel more beautiful each and every day.
3. Indulge in a salt bath
Another rejuvenating self-care act is taking a salt bath. Not only are salt baths incredibly detoxing, but they also help your muscles relax, and make your skin feel soft and healthy. Some of my favorite bath salts to use are pink Himalayan Epsom salt and eucalyptus Epsom salt, but there are dozens of different kinds that you can choose from.
Whichever bath salts you prefer, take time to light some candles, put on some good music, pour a glass of wine, and pamper yourself with more evening baths this February if you want to detox the stress, and bring in some restful rejuvenation to your life.

4. Be thoughtful about goals
Another great thing to do for self-care this month is to be mindful of your goals. While the winter is a time of slowing down, it’s also a time of planting seeds of intention to help bring your goals to fruition in the future. So, now is a good time to be mindful of your goals, write them down, and start taking small steps each day to work towards them without overdoing it.
Too often, we overwork ourselves and it leads to excess stress, personal neglect, and a bad mental state. That’s why being mindful is so crucial to the success of your goals, and can help take so much stress off your shoulders, and help you move at a much healthier pace towards your goals. This month, slow down and take mindful steps to get where you want to be. I promise you, that a slower and steadier approach will be worth it and will make you feel so much happier in the end.

5. Build better habits
To go along with setting a manageable pace for your goals, February is also a good time to build better habits- but it also helps set the tone for the next season as well. Not only is this important for taking care of yourself, but it’s also important for loving and respecting ourselves more. So, if you’re constantly overspending, now is the time to cut back and be more conscious about your spending habits. If you’re constantly overworking yourself, now is the time to start making more time to rest. If you’re constantly eating bad food and want to eat healthier, now is the time to change that. If you’re constantly wanting to exercise but never do, now is the time to make that a habit. Whatever it is, now is a great time to start working on building new habits and letting go of the ones no longer serving you so that you can take better control of your life, and feed into your soul in the best way possible.
6. Work on putting yourself first
Lastly, aside from just doing pampering activities, self-care is also about setting boundaries and taking care of ourselves in other ways. That means it’s a good time to start working on saying no to the things that don’t add to your life, cutting ties with toxic things or people, detoxing from bad experiences, and overall just making better choices for yourself. Take time to sit down and think of all the ways you can start putting yourself first and do it without guilt. Big or small, doing this will greatly improve your life, will help you respect yourself and your emotions better, and will help clear the way for better things to come in the future.

Overall, there are many ways to slow down, nurture yourself, and bring positivity to your life in this season and the first step is to start building a good routine. If you do that and work on dedicating a little bit of time to it each day, you’re bound to notice benefits in no time.

And the tariffs that Canada imposes on the US do not count? Not reading a blogger from the US because of tariffs? Really?!
