A charming little fellow arrived the other day and inspired this autumn harvest mantel.
Autumn Harvest Mantel
Can you believe we are in November already? It seems like we just got started on a month full of colorful leaves and pumpkins- and it is zooming on by. Before you know it (ahem-next week over here) there will be twinkling trees and merry & bright popping up everywhere. One of my favorite things about this mantel styling- is that this can last right through Thanksgiving. Here is a look back at this autumn mantel styling from last year for Friday Favorites. Something fun to note about this one? I have never used a turkey in decor before. He looks so cute on the mantel (and somewhere else) and he would be so beautiful on a sideboard also. I definitely encourage you to think outside the box and try something new too. 🙂

Harvest Mantel
From little pumpkins and scattered leaves- harvest mantel brings to mantel the feeling and colors of the seasons. We have looked at moody with dried branches, natural touches with apples and leaves and today we are going a bit more elegant with a beautiful golden turkey, wheat and white pumpkins. While most stylings incorporate several layers- there are just three main elements in this one and the rest are ones that you can play with and change easily.

Mr. Turkey
Did you know that we had a Mr. and a Mrs. turkey when we lived in Minnesota? We got them both when they were just chicks and they grew to be absolutely huge. We were already vegetarians so we brought them home to be pets- and when I would walk out to go get the mail at the end of the long driveway we had, Mr. Turkey would follow me there and back and do a little dance and gobble for me.

This Mr. Turkey is a handsome boy too. I love the golden tones and the beautiful details -and he is a big boy as well. A perfect size for making a statement on the mantel or a table (more on this coming soon)

White Pumpkins

Just a few baby boo’s and heirloom white pumpkins stacked on the mantel were enough to bring in that ‘autumn’ feeling.
Golden Wheat Wreath
This is a wreath I have had for several years – and it is definitely a favorite for simple, natural autumn stylings. Full and lush- and yet subtle and soft in color.

In the Details
The leaves and branches that we used in the other two mantels stayed so that you can see how they add a different feeling to each one. I am loving those natural touches as a base layer for the looks- and it really brings that autumn feeling for me.

Te same brass candlesticks as before and added a few vintage silver trophies for a little bit of interest. Of course, these are things that you can add and remove easily to get the perfect look for you.

In the firebox- the birch logs with birch LED candles are glowing away again. I am in love with how this looks and how much warmth and glow those candles bring. I also lit the candles in the cast iron lanterns. You might remember these are favorites to use on the porch to welcome guests- I love to also bring them indoors and enjoy their patina and charm inside too.

Love Your turKey! Is it New or vintage?
It is new! I linked it in the blog post. 🙂
Beautiful mantel. That turkey is amazing and so is your wreath. I have a turkey that is made of papier mache. It’s not as beautiful as yours. But I think I will try to incorporate your ideas either on my table or sideboard.
It will be beautiful Sharon!
Hi Courtney!
Your mantel is stunning! I love both of your autumn table stylings with your blue and white Giulietta plates and etched stemware. If you can only choose one Balsam Hill item, just for that table setting from October thru November, would it be the glowing pumpkins or Mr. Turkey as your personal favorite? Please tell me soon before they sell out! ♥️ Thank you the discount too!! 😉
I think it depends on the look you prefer really. The glowing pumpkins and turkey both are so versatile – and work for the mantel or table easily and will last through Thanksgiving. I think if you are looking for something in between guests in the centerpiece rather than towards the end (does that make sense?) the glowing pumpkins are lower and they add that twinkle ambiance as well. Mr. Turkey fits beautifully at the end of the table since he is a taller chunky guy. I hope that helps!
love this! How did you make the turkey look brown/copper? It lookes very bronze on balsam hill’s website?
It is just as it arrived- maybe it is the lighting?
Thanks! 🙂
Hi Courtney!
Yes, makes perfect Sense. VERY good point. The pumpkins would allow see through for conversation.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Absoulutely in love with the wreath and Mr. Turkey. The look is different and fresh. The best thing in the post was “next week the Twinkling begins.” I live for that and all the tips. Thank you for all your inspiration Courtney.
