There is something about summer
that just makes me want to simplify.
Maybe it is the windows and doors wide open.
The curtains blowing softly in the breeze and fresh air and sunshine.
Summer brings that lazy day, sleeping in, no school schedule type feeling
and it also always seems to inspire a fresh look in the house.
I definitely feeling the need to
bring in lighter colors
take down those heavy curtains
and bring in the bright and airy.
And one of those places that tends to always get a new look is the living room mantel.
This week, I am sharing a quick summer mantel using just
3 things
and that can be done in about 5 minutes.
Because, seriously, who has time to spend styling and moving things around
when you have a laundry list of things on the to-do list?
My motto is keep it simple and easy to do
while being beautiful.
Here is what I used for this 5 minute mantel.
A few beach washed bottles – some vintage gathered from the house
and some new from Birch Lane
A stack of paper wrapped books
and
peonies.
(because… peonies.)
I just arranged them on the mantel, stepped back
and called it good.
And the best part?
This 5 minute mantel can last all summer long if you don’t feel like redoing it anytime soon.
All you have to do is change the flowers
for fresh ones as needed.
Seriously simple and charming- and done in 5 minutes?
Yes, please.
Also, sharing a quick video I made with Wayfair today
talking about this mantel
what one of the most popular series is on my blog
and
what inspires me when it comes summer decorating.
I would appreciate your views and ‘thumbs up’ if you like it.
See you tomorrow for Feathered Nest Friday
