Happy weekend before Thanksgiving everyone.
Are you running around like wild getting everything ready for the big day?
I am definitely running around and feeling like my to-do list just.keeps.growing.
But… before all that Thanksgiving stuff gets going- I have a busy weekend to conquer
and a week in review to share.
Last week, it was all Christmas all the time over here.
And it included a fun event with Balsam Hill.
Tree Lot Event
The Balsam Hill tree lot event is a fun interactive evening with bloggers, designers,
and the Balsam Hill family. There are Christmas carols, great food, lots of trees and just all around good feeling holiday cheer.
And this year is an especially exciting year at Balsam Hill .
They are celebrating 10 amazing years of the BEST Christmas trees out there-k are debuting their float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade-
and they have a special commemorative ornament to celebrate.
At the event, we played with picks and ribbons and made wreaths and started decorating a few trees for something exciting this weekend…
and we also had a wreath contest where partygoers could make a wreath and win a prize.
But the highlight for me was spending time laughing (a lot) and talking with everyone.
Always enjoy seeing Brad (and studying his ribbon technique)- he is the floral designer extraordinaire for Balsam Catalog and wreaths- and so enjoy the time being with my Balsam Hill family.
Fresh Greens
After the event, I stayed over in the city and went to the SF Flower Mart on the way home in the morning. And of course, garden roses, peonies, ranunculus were all talking loud and clear to me… but I was also there because I needed fresh greens.
And I have to give a shout out to Al and his team at Pacific Coast Evergreen.
I usually email Al about pricing and orders in September/ October while I wait for all the good greens to come in.
And I am usually waaay ahead of schedule… but this year has been crazy busy in an awesome way and I have been spinning around in circles lately, and forgot to place the order last week.
Bad me…
I emailed him Thursday evening to see if I could simply pick up some boxes of loose greens in the morning since it was so last minute- and when I walked in on Friday, I found that they had made up some of the most amazing garlands and wreaths for me.
This is one of the wreaths- and you will be seeing the rest soon. They are so gorgeous and you should know- their prices for beautiful custom orders are amazing- and they ship all over the US. (not sponsored- just love them)
Flowers
Of course, I also picked up flowers while there… because, you simply CANNOT go to the flower market and not load up. And load up I did. And I found David Austin Garden Roses… oh.my.gosh. THE most amazing garden roses ever. These are two that accidentally broke off so, into a tiny bit of antique ironstone they went. (these are from @Garcia Greens at the SF Flower Market)
I have several table setting ideas coming your way- and I am super excited to share some new pieces with you.
Thank you
On a side note, I just want to say thank you for all your kind words, orders and support with my latest side project with photography. You all are absolutely the best and I appreciate it.
I will leave the shop open for a bit- and then close and re-open with new items from time to time.
