You know I love burlap
Upholstery, linens, drapery… yep, love it.
I was super excited when one of my sponsors BurlapFabric.com sent over some
burlap and coffee sacks and goodies to create something
If you haven’t shopped them before- you should take a peek.
They have colored burlap, huge rolls of burlap, jute webbing, burlap and coffee sacks, etc.
When it arrived~ I was happy that the burlap was much better quality than the
garden burlap I had purchased before and that it also comes rolled up neat and tidy on a big roll

Oh and those the coffee sacks?
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
Oh and those the coffee sacks?
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
So as I stared at the burlap and those coffee bags
my mind started churning…
I really loved the coffee sacks ~ these ones came with the green line and lettering
and they are used- so they are not perfect-
but they are perfect for several designs I have in mind.
I would be using them for something or fifteen somethings.
or maybe nothing other than folding on a shelf –
they are super charming just by themselves.
🙂
🙂
But.. I like to put my own spin on things..
and I did have my sewing machine out already from another project…
and so I started cutting and sewing
and I love how it turned out.
and I love how it turned out.
The rustic look was perfect for this nearly 9′ long chippy painted farmhouse table.
Just simple barely there ruffles was all it needed on each end to finish it.
I love the base the burlap creates for the table.
My pretty peonies kept wilting and dropping their petals in the heat as I photographed- but I didn’t mind.
I love their beautiful petals and the shabby soft look the peonies have as they are drying as well.

So while I was in my crazy burlap sewing mode…I also sewed a new tablecloth
that I will be sharing shortly and am super excited that they are part of something
else that I am working on~ more on that later.
I just might have created a couple more things with these bags too
😉

What makes the whole thing is the stripe down the middle…tres chic! And of course the finishing touch is the ruffle you created….very sweet.
Of course, the rose petals don't hurt either….thanks for the ideas!

Looks great, Courtney! I picked out the same sacks. They are awesome and HUGE! I love what you've done. I was originally going to make a pillow but given the size, I'm using them for toy storage in my twins' room. The turquoise stripe matched the new plan perfectly. If I had an outdoor table, I'd be dumping some toys out….;)
