It has been a quiet week around home and around blogland.
Which means… a lot getting done.
Like renovation planning. Soaking in the tub in the evenings. Writing and busy work.
The week coming up is a busy one full of travel, photography, and fields of blooms and a favorite little spot. But first… let’s talk about the week in review.
Moving
I have been jogging almost every other day for the past couple of weeks. It feels SO good to be back running on the trails and burning off a bit of steam. I don’t have the best joints to be honest- they have always been a bit on the wonky side going a wee bit too far in the wrong direction. So I had to take a break from that jogging habit for awhile after a knee injury.
But, currently- back on the train, listening to a mix of The Chainsmokers, Adele, Motley Crue and Disney. Because- what motivates you one day might not work the next. Mix it up.
Shaking
I mentioned Shakeology recently and promised a little more info about it. It is my favorite nutrition shake out there. I have tried less expensive ones but I always come back to this one. Yes, it seems expensive. Yes, it takes a bit of time to get (you have to order ahead) and yes you could find one on the market for a chunk less. BUT… the thing that is different is that Shakeology is full of nutrients that other shakes don’t have.
Things that make me feel 100 times more fueled and full of goodness than others.
I know several of you have requested a full post on my thoughts on Shakeology and the recipes I use. So next week- I will share a few smoothie recipes no matter what type of protein you use.
Planting
We have been gardening. Planting and trimming and prettying up the patio for spring. And back in January, I ordered several rose plants that I can hardly wait to get here. They are those pretty cottage garden style roses that bloom like peonies with layers and layers of goodness. I just hope that I don’t do anything to mess them up. My green thumb with roses is sometimes questionable. And along with planting – we are creating little paths within the yard in areas that I haven’t shown before. So fun.
Watching
My travel schedule coming up is a little on the cuckoo side- but it is all good.
And one of my favorite things about traveling is people watching. I know that sounds strange but I am serious. Have you ever sat on a bench and simply watched people when you are in a new area?
I feel like you can learn a ton about the way of life where ever you are traveling. Different folks, different focuses, different ideas. I love it. I love being immersed in somewhere new and instead of focusing on being a tourist- focusing on looking like a local and doing what they do.
Because that is really where you can delve into that area and enjoy it.
Surfing
This week I found myself so inspired on the big www
Like this post all about a jute nest
Loved this post about reinvention… and flowers
Of course I can’t forget this post about Easter place setting ideas.

I will be off on an excursion up in Calistoga that involves much more than just staying in my favorite B&B-
and there may be some behind the scenes peeks of the next
Beach Bicycle in Bloom series there as well.

I am chuckling over your mention of surfing the Web. One day I called my 90-year-old mother and asked what she was up to. "Oh, I'm just surfing the Web," she replied, as if that were the most obvious thing. My reaction: !!!
We're never too old to learn new tricks!

Hi Courtney,
Hope you had a nice time on your work-cation. If you have David Austin roses coming, you're going to love them!!! I just planted my first here in Texas in a pot just a week ago. It already has buds on the stems! The little one gallon one will arrive the end of April. Hope both will make it alright through the summer here {weather is more like Fresno in North Texas ~ same latitude}. Going to give it a go!
Happy Easter to you and your family,
