Welcome to the Weekend View.
This and that and everything else all rolled into one post for the weekend.
Woodland Friends
We always seem to have deer living on our property down by the pear tree. There is a small clearing meadow area nestled in between a grove of trees where they seem to have made a home. This year, we have a momma and two babies- along with a couple of bucks who are always out wandering in the yard. We noticed the mom is quite skinny and she has been coming right up to where we sit in the evenings to nibble on apples that have fallen. We have also seen her drinking out of the fountain. Since it has been so hot and dry here the past month, we set a bucket of water out so that the creatures have water if they need it. This is a screenshot from a video I shared on IG a couple of days ago. She was looking right at us while she crunched apples.

Sunrise view
I have been sharing the sunrise view here all summer it seems. As I mentioned, I have been trying to slow my mornings down a bit and really get into the whole ‘slow living’ mindset. So I have been getting up a bit earlier and wandering outside with my coffee to watch the sunrise. It has been so wonderful to soak up that quiet time and start the day that way. Absolutely makes a difference for me to not just jump right into work, emails, etc.

This is the view from a couple of chairs and low table that we set underneath the hazel tree above the greenhouse area. I love that the canopy of leaves is lights up with the sunrise. It is quite peaceful and beautiful to sit here in the mornings.
Greenhouse
You might notice the greenhouse shelves are bare. We are working on a photoshoot in the greenhouse and so, everything has been taken out to start with a clean backdrop. Our work projects have been on hold for the past week so even though we were taking some time off this month- we are playing catch up this week before taking a break.
Sunset skies
We have been unusually humid for California the past couple of weeks. I am usually cold and wrapping up in my robe in the evenings even in summer – but right now- it is tank tops and shorts on repeat. Though we are not fans of humidity- that moisture does create some spectacular sunsets. After the rain the other day(also unusual for summer here) this is what the sky looked like.

Camping
We are hoping to get some progress done on the Avion trailer this next week for a trip to a lake for a night out under the stars. We have a photoshoot planned for a project I am working on and are going to invite the big kids to come stay in the campground if they would like to.

Fun Family News
I mentioned a couple months ago that we have another grand baby on the way -my son Cullan & his wife Diem are expecting a baby boy in October. We are all so excited and can hardly wait for him to get here. And even more exciting news as Juliette is going to be a big sister! My oldest son Ryan and his wife are expecting baby number 2 in January. So much baby blessings and excitement here right now.
Juliette
This wee one has been more wild than ever. And she has discovered cupcakes and that they are delicious. lol.

Weekend Wandering
If you love pillows… KariAnne shared 7 favorite pillow combinations this week- and they are all lovely.
Love this inspirational post about what to do on Nantucket. I’m ready to go!
Happy Weekend All
Those lovely sunsets are the result of the smoke from the California forest fires. I hope you and yours and the wildlife stay safe. That poor deer needs food.
Yes, she has been enjoying lots of apples and nibbles at our home and she manages to grab some of the goats food haha. We usually spray repellent for deer but have not been recently knowing they need to eat. Recently, the air has been much better from the smoke thankfully, but a couple weeks ago was absolutely horrible. But the humidity is no joke. I realize it is not much for other places- but we don’t get humidity here. We had rain the other day (another not usual for summer) and when the sun came out it was so thick.
BEAUTIFUL sunsets! Im so ober the HUMIDITY! I cant To see the camper your working on ! CONGRATULATIONS on all the baby news!
Beautiful photos! So glad you are feeding the deer and putting out water. We have a couple stray cats in our neighborhood. As the neighbor to our right feeds them, we just put out water under the bushes. The neighbor to our left has started feeding them as well. We have a kitty ourselves but she has a high wire fenced area she can enjoy the outdoors without getting into trouble or lost.
I hope you are very very far away from the fires!
I love your property. It truly looks so peaceful and with nature and your amazing garden, I can only imagine how enjoyable it is. Seeing Deer munch fallen apples would be so enchanting.
Congratulations on two new grandbabies on the way!
