This week it is all about behind the scenes, Summerween, sweet peas and our sweet silkies.
Summerween
My daughter is a big halloween kind of girl. And she has 2 of the 12′ Skeletons that she puts up in summer to kick off Summerween. Which is basically, Halloween in the summer. We helped her set up the skeletons the other day and they are both now peering over the fence and greeting the delivery drivers and guests when they arrive.
Christmas in July
And… on that same note… I am setting up a Christmas tree for Christmas in July that is coming next week. Are you ready for a little sprinkle of twinkle light magic in July? I am definitely feeling it this year more than usual. This greenhouse styling was from my Christmas book and is such a favorite look.
Vintage Chairs & Sweet Peas
I set a recent junking treasure vintage chair up in the sweet peas last week and grabbed a couple quick snaps for an instagram share. I am obsessed with how beautiful our sweet peas are this year. To be honest, after we had to have the rest of the old growth cedar trees cut down a few months ago, I have been feeling quite sad knowing how much beauty that was there is now missing. The sweet peas growing in as full and beautiful as they did this spring is unlike any other time when they have bloomed since we have lived here and it feels like such a gift with them giving so much beauty this year.
Sweet Silkies
I adore all of my sweet chicken babies and this week, several of our boys ‘helped’ with some of the videos we were shooting for instagram. I grabbed a couple of screenshots of Jiminy our white silkie rooster and Louis our naked neck frizzled silkie rooster. Both of them are such sweet boys.
Behind the Scenes
There is a bit going on behind the scenes with various shoots, video production and more happening soon. We also have a bit of family stuff going on that will be taking priority for several weeks in July so I am working ahead to get things wrapped up for that too. I will be sharing more behind the scenes of my new book as well as one more big giveaway coming your way.
