Last week, I shared these cute little reindeer that I found at Lowe’s
that I used as place card setting holders.
I am in love with them and decided to try a little paint the antlers
on a couple of them to jazz them up a bit.

After several questions on how to paint the glazed ceramic
I thought I would share a bit more.
There is an enamel type paint in a small can at Lowe’s that is perfect for painting
all kinds of things -these reindeer included.

But if you dashed to Lowe’s
bought a cart full of reindeer
got home
and set them out on the table

that you forgot to stop in at the paint center and pick up the gold paint…

sigh…yep, it happens… you can try one of these as well.
Nail polish.
I know. Nail polish.
Yes, I tried it and yes, it worked.
Just paint it on and let it dry.
Note: I think the finish will be a bit lighter and more ‘see through’ than a paint
but it probably depends on what type of polish you use.
Craft store paint.
It’s a perfect solution when there is a specific type of color that you would like and you don’t need a whole can of it- plus if you are anything like me- you already have a few of them on hand.
So no matter which way you go-
giving your reindeer or any other little ornaments a glamorous makeover is easy.

you can find it HERE
So what do you think?
Do you prefer them au natural in all white or with a little bit of gilding on their antlers?
I am busy the next couple of days working on creating some holiday magic
for some very special boys and girls this week
for some very special boys and girls this week
So the simple or not so simple question of the day is:
When you were a child,
what did your ideal Christmas room look like?

Love the reindeer! I use nail polish for lots of small projects…it's inexpensive and comes in hundreds of colors and finishes, i.e. glitter!

I think they're fantastic! Nail polish is an inspired idea, I have gilded silver and gold acrylic paint – with iridescence – it takes a couple layers – wonderful options and the deer heads are exquisite!
