Cozy autumn is the best. Chunky knit throws, warm fires in the fireplace and autumn candlelight ambiance bring all the warm and cozy feelings to the house. While we have the slightest of chills in the air in the mornings and evenings- our weather during the day is full of sunshine and warmth into the 80’s in October. It is a dance between the seasons until the rainy weather and chilly temperatures moves in- and it is perfect for adding just a bit of those candlelight touches to warm up the house.
On the table

Cozy. Warm. And simple and sweet. Other than those London inspired doorscapes – it is all about simple this year. I think it is aligning with the slow living lifestyle I am craving and how decorating for the seasons fits into that. For a simple look on the dining room table- it is all about big potted mums, wee heirloom pumpkins and candles.

I actually love the white mums here- but also love the purple. The look kind of changes with my daily mood after taking them outside to water. You will probably see more of this look soon.

Fun fact about this snap? It is also a mingle between the seasons- the green transfer ware is in the cupboard for a Christmas photoshoot. I didn’t move it when I brought the mums – I kind of like the mingle.
Out under the stars

Of course, I love to bring in a bit of candle ambiance outside too. This table setting is a favorite mix of vintage florals, blush and the rich colors of the season.

Of course, safety always with candles- especially outdoors. Choose faux for the safest option and if using real – don’t ever leave them unattended.

Simple and inspired
It doesn’t have to be a big styling to bring in that ambiance. Simple and inspired is my motto. Inspired meaning go with what speaks to you. Maybe that is a few candles on the stairs, lanterns with fairy lights and candles or candles tucked into pumpkins on the porch.

It is all about creating a setting that fuels you and your creative and cozy feelings this season.

Happy autumn all.

I love real candles and try to always pay attention to them. haven’t fallen under the charm of battery operated yet, though they’re beautiful!
I set up a CANDELABRA on the cake table at a wedding once, not realizing that the cake table was set up under an air conditioning vent…. It resulted in a beautiful wax “sculpture” much like the ones on your outdoor candles, and I carefully wrapped it for transport back to my home at the end of the night! Of course, there was the candle wax in my tablecloth….
