I am currently obsessed with wallpaper. And vintage style wallpaper with old scrolls details, flowers and all things lovely are my favorites. Along with classic toile, ticking stripes, dainty ditsy florals and… well, okay- I kind of love wallpaper of all different kinds.
Vintage Inspired Floral Wallpaper
Every time I think I have narrowed down the wallpaper I would like for my project- I find another that has me head over heels.
When I was first decorating the bathroom – I wanted something romantic inspired. A floral toile with birds and blooms and lots of pretty on repeat. If you have been here awhile you might remember this bathroom- we are going waaaaaay back here folks.
Before the marble came into the bathroom. When there was a sand and cream color checkerboard tile floor. Walls of floral toile wallpaper and pedestal sinks. And apparently- a lot of pretty flowers. (unusual, I know!)
Truth be told- I struggled with myself a little bit when we updated the bathroom with the marble and wood- because I did like the wallpaper. But, I was ready for a change- less pattern and more serene in style. Funny thing though, here I am entertaining different wallpapers for another space because I am craving that warm and romantic vintage style again. So, as they say- as much as things change- they seem to stay the same. I love wallpaper in a room as much as I always have and I am feeling it big time folks. Oh and if you missed the BEFORE on this bathroom- you might enjoy seeing the doozy of where we started and what a project it was. You can Find that HERE
The One
The hardest part is narrowing down just exactly the look I am going to go with. So, I thought I would share some of the patterns and ideas that have been inspiring me. Today is all about vintage florals – there are some floral toile, floral tickings, cottage blooms and French style florals. A few that are Bold and beautiful and full of drama ( I am a bit of of a backdrop drama queen) and others that are quite subtle and just a bit of pattern. Next inspiration post- we will focus on toile options. And then maybe mural look wallpapers. Can you now see why I haven’t wallpapered anything yet? haha. Just a tad indecisive on which direction I am running with just yet.
What about you? How do you feel about floral wallpaper in a room? Are you in the Only for bedrooms or bathrooms & dining rooms camp? Or the leave it all together camp?
If you are in the Love it, love it, love it camp- here are 38 gorgeous vintage inspired floral wallpapers that I found while searching for ‘the one’. Which one is your favorite?

So many of these patterns remind me of the wallpaper my sister and I had in our bedroom. we had slept on a pull-out sofa and then a roll-a-way bed in the kitchen or living room up until I was in the sixth grade. My father finally added two bedrooms and a bath to our very small four-room farmhouse that he had built from scratch. We were so proud of our bedroom. in addition to the wallpaper that my mother and aunt applied to the walls and ceiling, we, for the firt time, had a double bed and it was topped with a down comforter filled with goose down that my great grandmother had plucked from her own geese. we never left for school without getting on either side of the bed and shaking that comforter until it looked like a giant marshmallow.

What a great memory, Teddee! Thank you for posting it. Seeing the cabbage rose patterns reminded me of times past, raising three young boys with my husband. I applied the cabbage rose print paper to the walls, and my husband built the Wainscott as we balanced and entertained the boys underfoot. Little ones with paste-covered hands or hammers and paintbrushes ready to “help” wherever needed. Thanks for jogging the memory 🙂

I love thie first one, #12, #17 and #33 (however I wonder if this one would be too much even though I love it). They are all beautiful. I know that whichever one you choose it will look spectacular because you have incredible talent at putting things together. You know #28 (black with flowers) is catching my eye for a bolder print. It could look really spectacular in a room and be fun to decorate with. What’s a girl to do?

Hi Courtney!
I am all for the vintage cozy charm that the right choice wallpaper brings to a room! Especially bedrooms and bathrooms.Personally, I like #1 and also the lilac ONE! 😍 Soft, Simple, sweet and easy on the eye (timeless). I also appreciate the drama side of you and the murals are a nice choice as well for a dining room. Reminds me of the “Elequence” side of you with your rustic elegant furnishings. 😉
