It’s the most wonderful time of the year… and one of the most busy too. So if you are like me, you are looking for beautiful and Easy to do ideas for finishing up all your Christmas decor- including your Christmas tree. But you also want it to look like there was a lot of thought and process that went into creating it so it tells a story. Today I am sharing a couple ideas for doing that.
Glass Mushrooms Christmas Tree

A simple and sweet and unique touch for your Christmas tree- use dainty and delightful ornaments like glass mushrooms. These mushrooms can give your tree a whimsical look and be a perfect finishing touch for a sweet woodland inspired tree. I love them on spindly little Charlie Brownesque trees too.
Long bows on the Christmas Tree
Always a favorite look- simple bows on the Christmas tree. But to add a little something extra- make them extra long and dangly.

This sweet tree is a unique look and a unique tree- made from plants it is a recycled material tree and new to Balsam Hill this year. I adore the sparse look it has and decorated it with just a few baubles, double layer of ribbons and some extra pizazz with globe string lights. A couple sprigs of dried eucalytpus and glowing orbs underneath for a whimsical touch. Even Curly seems to like the tree- and those sweet deer friends too.

Vintage Napkin Rings on a Christmas Tree
Napkin rings aren’t just for the table- take some of your favorites and use them as decor on the Christmas tree. It is a unique look and so easy to do. You can tie them with a ribbon or simply put a branch through them and set them on the tree. I used vintage silver angel napkins rings and candle holders on this tree.

Vintage Decor or Toys on the Christmas Tree
Something so sweet to do is to incorporate those childhood ornaments or decor touches that have been handed down or that you have saved from your children and grandchildren art project, etc. A nostalgia tree that brings in all the whimsy and fun is one idea or you can even just add a couple of those special ornaments to your tree and enjoy them. This tree has little vintage reindeer that my grandmother gave me years ago when I was newly married. I adore them even now.

Containers for a unique Christmas Tree
Instead of the usual tree stand for your Christmas tree- why not go in a unique different direction with a unique container to hold your tree? Wood crates (as above), buckets, pottery, antique grape harvest containers, baskets, half wine barrels, you name it. There are so many different ways you can decorate a Christmas tree starting with the base to create a more unique look.

I hope you enjoyed a couple simple sweet and easy to do ideas to add a unique designer look to your Christmas tree. Stay tuned for a few ideas for dazzling up your garlands as well as some favorite ideas for Christmas baking soon.
