It’s the first Saturday of 2015.
Can you believe it?
Are you excited and energized for the new year?
I am super excited and cannot wait to get going and to share all that I have planned for 2015.
I know it is going to be a wonderful year!
I have my new years post to publish yet and will be sharing that shortly
but for today- it’s all about this and that and random stuff.
Things like a quiet bare look in the house, fashion for the new year and Ebay.
I am moving slow on some projects with the remnants of that bug from last week hanging one
but getting a lot of work done on the behind the scenes stuff.
Yesterday, I started to work on taking down some of the Christmas stuff to make room
for some changes. And here is what I have decided:
Not loving a bare house.

Not loving a bare house.
A Bare House
Honestly, this is the earliest I have started to put the stockings and trees away in a long time.
It is always a little bit bittersweet for me to take down Christmas- while I love the fresh clean feeling it brings to the rooms -the just seem a wee bit less cheery than usual.
But… I will quietly admit that I am leaving a few things up in some rooms
for a project I am working on in the new year.
So I will be enjoying just a little bit of Christmas for a bit yet- and yes, twinkling lights in the background is always inspiring- even in January. 😉
New Year – New Look
I am feeling like I need a new look more and more lately.
Sometimes after a couple of years of getting comfy in those old favorite jeans
a girl needs to indulge in a few changes.
A new wardrobe so to speak- for yourself AND for your home.
I have always been a little of a fashion diva but I’m talking about boosting those everyday looks. Blue jeans, white t-shirt and pink pearls type – for wearing everyday and for dressing your home for 2015 . Maybe it’s the year you bring in a little more bling, or a touch of gold
or even something totally different than your usual.
More coming on that soon but for now you can find and shop some of my latest crushes on my Shop the Look page.
Paint me
Paint and a little elbow grease can be a girls best friend when it comes to giving your
home a much needed cheery boost in the New Year.
home a much needed cheery boost in the New Year.
Honestly, when the Christmas gets packed away – the house looks just a tad blah
(okay- let’s be honest, maybe A LOT blah)
and I think a fresh coat of paint can do wonders for lighting up the dreary days of Winter.
I am planning on sharing a couple fresh looks with paint in the coming weeks- and this beautiful vintage distressed and antiqued green is one of them. (excuse the instagram photo) I have to admit, I wasn’t sure about this one and how it would look- but I am loving how it is turning out.
Get The Look
Super excited to be starting off the 2015 with a partnership with Ebay and it is all about French Country Cottage style and what is catching my eye right now.
I will be sharing favorite finds on Ebay as well as several style guides from How to get the look to Favorites to Inspirations. So much more coming your way over the next few weeks- and I just shared a post on one of my most asked questions: How to get the French Cottage look in a bedroom
I would love if you would follow along over on Ebay so you don’t miss a thing!

That’s it for today.

I went through a total about face in the decorating style of my bedroom late last year and it was very freeing. I always feel sad when it is time to say goodbye to Christmas but it is also exciting to re-energize your look and start fresh. Can't wait to see what you will come up with this year!

It's so exciting to have new ideas and plans on the horizon…I look forward to seeing what you are going to do. I so agree, things get a little bland, stale after awhile. I never want to get stuck in a rut with my home decor or my personal clothing/jewelry style. Change is good!
Happy New Year!

Hey Courtney. I am a relatively new follower of your blog and I have never commented before, but I just wanted to tell you that I love your style and your blog is a favorite of mine. When you said that you were going to change your style a little, though, that got me worried. I have stopped following a lot of bloggers because their style changed from pretty to a more spare, modern, and fairly industrial look. Hopefully that is not the direction you will be going in, as your blog is a huge inspiration to me, and it is refreshing to see florals, colors, buffalo checks, and pretty things on blogs. I love, love, love your home and look forward to changes that you make, just as long as they are not too sparse. 🙂
Happy New Year!
Beth.
