Sunflowers are such happy blooms aren’t they? They stand tall and proud in the garden and bring such sunshine happiness with their brightly colored petals and fuzzy centers. They are definitely a flower that brings to mind seasonal magic whether they are in a bouquet, in the garden or maybe in an antique basket for a happy moment.
Sunflowers in a basket
I spotted this aqua basket at a book signing last year and had to bring it home with me. It actually involved a bit of a rigamarole with an uber to fed-ex before it closed and having to have it shipped, but when that box arrived with my treasures, I was so happy I did it.
Instantly when I saw it, I knew that I wanted to put flowers in it. I was working on my book SEASONS at the time, and had the idea to put sunflowers in the basket for a September moment.
I carted it around outside, by the potting shed and on the patio and eventually it landed in the house.
