The weekend view is a busy one this week. We are in the middle of moving things from room to room, planting the garden and I scored a new vintage find for the greenhouse. So this week, the weekend view is all about blooming blooms, healthy recipes, sweet chickens and more.
Blooms in the Garden
Giddy is about the best way to describe how I am feeling about the blooms popping up in the garden right now. Most of them are on new plants we are planting- but either way, they are beautiful.

From lilac to geraniums.

Lavender, scabiosa, cosmos and several containers of tulips that just emerged and more. It is finally starting to feel like spring over here and it is giving me all kinds of energy. I have several photo shoots planned in the garden this week so I will share more soon.

Camellia Tree
Better late than never of course- our camellia and apple trees are in bloom. Usually they bloom much earlier but with the chilly weather – they took their time. It seems the camellia has more blooms than usual- though many of them are much smaller than usual. So beautiful.

George Henry
One of our sweet naked neck showgirl silkies- this little guy has been getting all kinds of cuddles this week. He and several of the other roos have been following us around the yard and joining us in the evenings and scratching by the fire pit before bed. They are such sweet chickens and bring a whole lot of joy. If you haven’t held a silkie chicken before- I highly recommend it.

Healthy Recipes
My husband and I are kicking off a new diet and workout regime this week. After the winter and disruption in our usual 5 miles a day walking and eating out while out of the house for several weeks- we are both feeling over and out with not feeling our best. We are breaking out some of our favorite veggie heavy meals and leaving some of those comfort food ones behind for a bit. If you are doing the same- you can find a couple veggie recipes that are perfect for summer like this grilled flatbread sandwich (just change the flatbread for a low cal pita) Sautéed Beets salad (so.good!) and this Vegetarian Baked Spaghetti Squash will be on the menu this week for a rainy day meal.
Coming your way
All about lavender- different types and how to care for them. Vintage shopping and what I brought home and a couple of fun things. Happy Weekend all.
The garden is going to look lovely. Spring is the most hopeful time of the year. Oh and I love the silkies they are the cutest!
i envy your gardens. our plants are just now coming up about 8 inches. we had a few warm days earlier last month but up here in Canada just over the border from Buffalo it is pretty cold this week. no flowers will be blooming for another week or so. clematis vines look promising if the weather warms up but nothing like your beautiful gardens. l always enjoy your posts.
Your garden is just beautiful. I love all the colors and all the different kinds of flowers.
I try to have at least two lavender Plants (in containers) every year i love them 😍
