A pretty little market cart is always a good thing. Whether shopping a flea market for treasures or the garden for fresh blooming beauties- those little carts can be used and enjoyed in so many ways.

Even simply just sitting and looking pretty in the house wherever you might want to tuck them.
Vintage Market Cart
I became obsessed with vintage shopping carts about a month ago and I went on a bit of a wander on the internet to see what I could find. While I found several reproductions that were absolutely darling- I was really leaning towards a vintage one for a project I am working on- and so, I kept looking until I found one that spoke to me.

So off I went to search the usual vintage treasure troves- craigslist, eBay and etsy- and found a few good contenders. Admit that I *almost* brought a woven basket one home after it sat in my cart for a week- but also looked at local vintage shops online and when I bumped into this one with wood slats and pretty vintage details- I was instantly inspired by it and knew this one was the one.

Of course, I did a bit of research on it before buying. But didn’t find too many that looked just like it for comparison, age, pricing so that didn’t help much.
A tip with vintage is to do your research and pay attention to details. BUT IF it talks loudly to you, you love it and. know it and the price is reasonable to you? Write the Check. Or in todays online shopping world- Send The Money. You don’t want the One to be the The One that Got away because you took too long. The Best bargains are the ones that make you happy when you see them everyday.

I have been puttering around here and there with this basket cart. I shared a quick snap on instagram stories while I was clipping spent blooms and weeding the garden. The cart held all the garden ‘clutter’ while I worked- so convenient and easy!
Lots of questions about where to find one. And so- today, I am sharing a few of the market carts I found while shopping for this one.

Sometimes you want true vintage like this one -quirks and flaws and all. Or maybe you want the next best thing. Vintage style that has todays modern and usable function- sharing a few options for each below including one that is vintage and looks so much like this one. (some affiliate links. )

Love the vintage metal but the white one is super cute. Thanks Courtney.

Did you look on Rubylane.com. It is a great place to find antique and vintage items from the US and abroad, all price ranges. I’ve bEen happy with everything i’ve bought there!
Hmmm …Wondering if I could construct one myself with a smallish vintage wicker hamper that I’ve had for years and years sitting by the wayside. I’d have to figure out the wheel design, front “stop”, and handle, and the of course, have hubby help along with the construction. Thanks for the inspiration…always love your posts, Courtney!
I think you chose just the right one. Beautiful!
