It’s pumpkin season.
There are big ones, small ones & mottled ones everywhere you look.
I am a white pumpkin girl
and love to use the creamy white pumpkins in my decorating
But for the outdoors and for Halloween I included
a little bit of traditional color.
Yes.
I know…
I am getting a little wild and crazy over here

This month we have two Lowes Creative Idea projects and one was about
adding a little bit of Fall to your home. I found lots of all sizes of pumpkins in the garden center
and was inspired to bring some home to add a touch of Fall to the outdoors.
I just love the simplicity of them lined up along the mantel
Big ones, small ones, curly stem ones…
so simple and so charming.

and swapped a couple big pumpkins for the lanterns for a few photos too.
I also found a few bags of teeny tiny mini pumpkins
I also found a few bags of teeny tiny mini pumpkins
that I am using for a couple of other vignettes
This is actually not the first look this mantel has gotten for Fall.
I used beautiful branches with little red berries on them.
I draped the branches on the mantel, took a few test shots and close ups
and was planning to edit that night and then take more photos in the morning
But that night-
there were a couple of deer that came down onto the patio and nibbled away
at those branches and the ornamental cabbage
It woke me up when things started to fall off
and so I flipped on the chandelier and there they were
looking at me.
looking at me.
As you can guess,
the mantel was looking a bit disheveled in the morning.
It’s okay… the deer had a nice snack and
the mantel got a head start on Halloween with a bit of orange instead.
🙂
I’ll share the rest of the outdoor Fall look when it’s wrapped up and
we are working on decorating for Halloween this week too.
See you soon with a thrift store treasure post
here’s a little sneak peek
😉

One of my favorite thing about pumpkins are the woody stocks. I think they add so much character.

Gorgeous fireplace!! Love your orange pumpkins with that one sweet little white pitcher tucked there in the middle.

I love your fall decor – even the little glimpses of the berries before the deer ate them! How shocking that much have been to see them in the middle of the night! Glad they didn't destroy anything else! I love pumpkins, all colors and sizes but I am particularly fond of those little baby ones. Not sure why. I think it's because they're so little and cute! Really liking those new ones with the stripes, tiger pumpkins? Can't remember what they are called but I want to go out and find some! Thank you for sharing – can't wait to see what you post next! Hugs, Leena

Hi Courtney. It looked like your mantle was well outfitted in the greens and berries, and it seems the deer thought so too. But it looks really pretty with all the orange pumpkins too. Do you think the deer will bother them? That's one good thing about living in town, we only have snails and blue jays. That's enough damage for me..Happy Monday..Judy

I love pumpkins, but I have to say that I prefer them white (shouldn't I be a little too much subjective ?)
I adore the last picture with the florentine tray and roses.

We have deer around here too.Luckily our lot is not as wooded at our surrounding area so we do not get them in our yard! But we do get plenty of other critters!Your outdoor mantle looks so pretty dressed for fall!I am keeping the traditional pumpkins outside too! I am planning on doing some Halloween decorating outside when it gets closer to Halloween!
