Okay folks, if you have been anywhere in stores or on social media, you know how much Ralph Lauren Christmas is trending this year. I don’t usually follow or chase trends truth be told- but Ralph Lauren is one I can get behind. In fact, I did a tree that fits this aesthetic for my Christmas book in 2022. I guess you could say it was loved here before it was trendy everywhere.

It has been a bit crazy here recently but if I can find a couple of hours to come up for some air in between the busy in the next week or two this season- I will have something special coming your way with this very look from my book soon. For now- we are talking about a few ideas to get the Ralph Lauren Christmas look.
Ralph Lauren Inspired Christmas
I have long been a fan of Ralph Lauren. Those vintage florals and timeless linens are always on the collecting list here. You might have seen vintage sheets as tablecloths, pillowcases as seat covers and more as I have shared them over the years and even a bit of plaids and moody colors. It can be complicated to create certain looks- but it doesn’t have to be. I am all about keeping it simple this year without sacrificing any of the charm.

Textures
The textures play a bit part- think rich, luxurious and natural. I know that is several different things haha. I am meaning like velvet ribbons and pinecones. Wool blankets and springs of berries. Oodles of taffeta fabrics with sprigs of greens and dried hydrangeas. Bring those into your decor- from pillows and a bowl of pinecones on the table to a wool blanket as a tree skirt with velvet ribbons on the tree. It can also be as simple as matte and glossy ornaments with berry and pinecone picks. Get creative and enjoy the mingle.

Pretty Classic Plaids
Goes without saying- those classic plaids are key for the holiday look. Think tree skirts and stockings. Tablecloths and ribbons on everything. Even packages can be pretty in plaid. I love the rich moody plaids like deep reds with navy and black, luscious dark greens with black and of course, traditional red and whites and blues work well too.

Rich moody colors
While you know that I love a good pastel for Christmas- RL look is all about those moody evocative colors. Think Navy Blue, Classic Blue, Rich Greens, Red, Black, Browns, Burgundy, etc. You can go big or go small on this one. Layer bold color ornaments. Add moody ribbons. Bring in colorful packages underneath the tree, layer those rich colorful velvet ornaments, add tartan bows to the tree or stockings, etc.

Natural Touches
Again- pinecones, branches, berries, persimmons, orange slices, florals, dried flowers, fresh cut greens and more. All are perfection for incorporating into trees and mantels, table displays and more. You don’t have to include them all- use what speaks to you and the rest of your decor.

Details
It is all in the details. No matter how little or how much you decide to lean into this look. Layers of velvet ribbons. Beautiful tartan in taffeta and wool, lovely fisherman type knits (think sweaters but in decor ) candles and cozy with rich moody ambiance and a scattering of natural touches. It is luxurious yet approachable, elegant and refined- and welcoming. Timeless. Classic and oh so lovely no matter how you take the look and spin it!

I, too, have always been a huge fan of ralph lauren. I love his stylings from tartan, to equestrian and even nautical that are all just delicious. Incorporating them into a holiday tree, even better. I love that you see the beauty in ralph lauren too!
Im a traditional christmas person and have always decorated for christmas in red, green, navy and gold or silver, as well as using plaid tablecloths. I grew up with that decor, which my mom loved. I have had my old plaid eddie bauer blankets for a long time. chinoiserie is also thrown in because i love it. Im glad that the classic look is returning. I do not folloe trends like gingerbread. I do, however, decorate my pirch tree in sage, lime, navy and silver to honor my FAVORITE football team— the Seahawks! 😊
