The softer side of Autumn is always a favorite look for me. Though I love some of those bold and beautiful colors that come along with all things autumn, pumpkin and such- I do tend to lean towards the softer, more quiet colors. I am one of those people who believe that seasonal decor should fit into your regular decor -rather than having to move things out or change the whole room just for those seasonal bits to move in.
This table is full of lovely shades of softer colors and sprinkled with a bit of bold Autumn colors and I am loving how it looks out under the tree. Let’s take a closer look at it along with some style idea tips for your autumn tables.
Softer Side of Autumn Table
A green checked cloth, mingled vintage place setting elements and a whole lot of autumn with the florals- this table was so easy to put together in just a few minutes. And it is perfect for hosting a lovely autumn harvest gathering or simply enjoying everyday.
The Centerpiece
Tip: Use a garland for a centerpiece that is low enough to chat over but that also brings a whole lot of lovely.
I love using garland as a centerpiece – so easy to simply lay on the table and tuck candles or lanterns around and create instant oomph.
The Place Settings
Tip: Don’t worry about matchy-matchy on the table when using vintage especially. A mix and mingle of favorite patterns is perfect and adds interest. I tend to keep the colors in the patterns somewhat cohesive so that nothing stands out too much but anything goes in my opinion so do what works for you.
Vintage china, collected glassware and monogrammed silver are always a lovely combination on the table.
The Ambiance
From string lights to lanterns to candles- all those charming elements bring a lovely bit of ambiance to the table.
Tip: You can use lanterns on the table or simply in the background for a lovely effect. Candles are warm and beautiful light to dine by- just be careful- don’t leave unattended when using outdoors and even better- use faux candles for safety. String lights above is a favorite thing and I tend to put them everywhere.
Pumpkin Centerpiece Accents
Tip: Don’t forget the background for ambiance too. I places a few stackable faux pumpkins with small lanterns tucked into foliage on the wine barrels in the back of the table for a little more more charm.
I will show a step by step on creating this look easily soon.

I love the table settings. Beautiful! I’m 78. explain to me why younger generations prefer wrinkled tablecloths and napkins! I would have had to iron yours before it was shown to the public! haha!

Your tablescape is beautiful; however The wrinkled TABLECLOTH TAKES away from the overall AESTHETIC.
