A small set that is so simple and yet so sweet- and a couple of extras that I couldn’t resist. Sharing a couple pieces of a sweet vintage floral thrifted dishes today and what my favorite things are.
Dainty Vintage Floral Thrifted Dishes

These are such darling little dainty dishes. I absolutely fell in love with the pale pink edging and roses- and of course the little bits of gilded details.
I found a set of small plates and bowls along with a teacup at the thrifts and they instantly went into my shopping cart. While shopping the same store- I also found 2 sets of the most adorable salt and pepper shakers that looked like they were kindred to the dishes. You know they came home with me too.

I am such a sucker for anything vintage, French, romantic and floral. So vintage floral thrifted dishes- I mean, how could I resist? The dishes were around $12 and the salt and peppers were $2 per set.
A tip when shopping- don’t walk by a set of plates that isn’t complete or that isn’t as full as you might like. Even in small bits, you can mingle those dishes with others that are similar and create a unique and beautiful setting. And more than one time, when shopping a different thrift store, I have found complimentary pieces that work perfectly.
Vintage Platters
I also recently brought home some vintage platters. Which is another thing I am always on the lookout for. Old chunky ironstone with details, simple and sweet or patterned- I love them all. These two are so darling.
One has a lovely little floral garland edging pattern and the other absolutely stopped me in my tracks.

Which I know is odd since it is just a platter but I adore birds and blooms and when I saw this one- I was giddy. I picked it up and told my husband it was my favorite find of the day. The price of these two?

So. Darn. Good. Such fun when you find the most delightful pieces when out shopping! I was actually not there looking for plates or platters- I was in search of old ironstone or white tureens for a styling. I did find a few of those too as you can see in the background. haha. I had some of these on hand already and most of the newly found ones were $6 and under -it was a good vintage bargain kind of shopping day for sure.
Another tip? If it speaks to you, whether that is a whisper or a shout- bring it home. Sometimes the smallest of purchases bring a big amount of joy. I overlook the crazing or chips or imperfections if I really love the pattern or look- they bring me joy even so.

What about you- would you have brought these treasures home with you? Or left them for someone else to enjoy?

All in all a fun vintage romantic dishes haul and you will see these cuties on repeat. Side note- these pitchers of roses are almost all homegrown and just clipped from our garden- I cut them before the rainy weather moved in a few days ago and they are opening up beautifully in the house.
The Market is CLOSING in a few days- so if you want any linens for the holidays, signed books or totes for gifts or anything else- go grab them now before the doors close. Shop The Market
Happy Thursday friends.
Most definitely! Antique porcelain is what I collect. these may have been made in pre-wwi France or Germany so may carry Limoges or Prussian porcelain marks. Lovely.
Beautiful antique treasures, Courtney! They would have definitely come home with me! I love your Thrift Shops and wish that we had some of the same here. Sure would be nice! Enjoy your beautiful pieces!
the dishes are pretty and I have had that rose pattern. I have donated most of my vintage dishes. here where I live you can’t sell these dishes. It’s like vintage furniture….no one wants it now. It’s irritating for me because I paid back in the day an expensive price and now I have to give it away. I consigned 2 beautiful french chairs in July and I got $50 for pair my part….wish you lived close to me and I would give to you because you love this stuff!!
I love the bowls!
So pretty Courtney! The prices are amaZing. Well done. Cant wait to see how you style them. XO- MaryJo
I love THE BLUEBIRD PATTERN! i’M 63 AND TO OLD TO START COLLECTING. NO ONE WANTS THE THINGS I WOULD COLLECT AND i DON’T WANT TO DO THAT TO MY KIDS! LOL I WILL BE SATISFIED LOOKING AT YOUR BEAUTIFUL DISHES AND HOW YOU USE THEM!
Love the pink rose dishes and the platters make me swoon! Love!
My head would have touched the ceiling if I’d seen those little salt n pepper shakers😍and the rose plates..
