I am one of those people who is always changing things around here.
Out of nowhere – a little wheel starts turning that makes me start thinking about changing things
Maybe it’s an inspiration from a single piece
that makes me look at the room differently and see what it could be if I just changed this

That shabby pale color? I Love it.
Until I don’t.
Then I think it should be darker-or lighter- which I really love.
well… you know what I mean.
😉
My husband jokes that he is glad that I married him before I changed my mind
My rooms and style are always evolving.
It’s the way I am and I’ll admit – I do kind of like that about myself

I love French Country- of course.
I love the yellows, reds and warm patterns mixing together.
but I love shabby cottage as well.
The creamy whites, the romantic touches with lots of crinkly wrinkly loose slipcovers,
and an abundance of flowers and charm.
Seems like about the time I get something JUST the way I want it…
I feel the winds of change starting up.
That room or color or layout just seems like it doesn’t work for me anymore.
It’s too white.
Too colorful.
Too many shades of pales or even too bold in patterns
I guess it’s good that I basically choose furniture and pieces that I really like
so changes don’t usually cost much more than the amount of paint and window coverings.

Though I have to admit I do have a couple pieces of furniture of my want list right now

I am definitely not one of those people who’s house
looks exactly the same as it looked the last time you visited.
So I am sure you can guess by this post that there are some changes being made over here.
It might involve some rooms you would think I would never change.
Well c’est la vie… they are a changing.
One of the rooms is changing out of necessity which I will share inspirations for in another post
but today I am grabbing my paint brush just for fun.
I am excited and hoping I don’t wonder what I was thinking.
😉
A hint?
it is not the room in the background of these photos

Avec l'arrivée du printemps les envies de changements se présentent…
Un très joli bouquet pour illustrer cette évolution. Plein de bonnes choses à vous.
Gros bisous
Sounds Like a fun day, Can't wait to see when your finished.
Your photos are gorgeous, and your style is lovely no matter what. Looking forward to seeing more. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
I always find that change creates a domino effect and one thing leads to another. That's ok, then I get a whole new room! Hugs, Leena
Can't wait to see your changes, Courtney- I love change, too…and go from one look to another on a whim sometimes. And isn't Magnolia Pearl something? xo Diana
Glad to know that I am not the only one who is always changing things. I go to sleep at night with my mind going crazy thinking about the different things I want to re-do.
I also love Country French. Great blog –
Have a great weekend.

I not only change my designs I change my total style! I need to find one that fits and stick with it! But basically I just do my own thing. I Jayne need a name for it!
Hey a girl can always change her mind right ! Nothing is ever the same around here either. And for me it is worse because I sell which means stuff comes in and goes out of here all the time!Looking forward to hearing about and seeing your changes!
I can't wait to see what changes you're making, Courtney!
It's such a relief to learn that I am not the only one! My family always jokes about how often I change things. When my son was a teenager he used to say that he never knew what the house was going to look like when he came home from school each day! Now that I've recently purchased my first home I'm afraid of making the wrong decisions, so I've been searching for a look that will not only be attractive, but also practical…and that I can live with for more than a month. I'm leaning towards whites, pale yellows and greens, purple florals, garden and botanical decor, with a blend of cottage, farmhouse, and French country style. If I sound, confused it's because I am. LOL!
If you didn't like to change things up all the time, you wouldn't have as much to blog about! I think all creative people are the same, bored easily, wanting more, wanting to dream up and create something new.
It's such a fabulous feeling and soooo addictive!!!
Happy Saturday Courtney!
xox
Happy Caturday to you…can't wait to see what you have going on..I too love the cottage look…I've dubbed my look…shabby Nantucket..a lot of soft shab with a little seaside…as I've gotten older I find myself liking the color pink more & more…was never a fan til the last couple of yrs..I hope to redecorate several rooms this summer myself..and painting is at the top of that list.
I am a firm believer of change being a good thing. I am always changing things about. As you said… the home never looks the same each visit.
But, I like it like that.
Looking forward to the change….
Hugs, Gee
Can't wait to see! EnJOY the process.

I am the same!
Look forward to seeing your new rendition!
I sure can relate! Your snaps are gorgeous and I'm excited to find out what you're up to!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
lol! Ohhhhh…..how well I know your design quandries, Courtney! lol This old farmhouse has gone through soooo many changes in the 6 years I've lived here, it's hilarious! Beachy, JDA, French country, shabby chic…and it's finally resting (for the moment) in shabby prairie chic. I, too, wonder if I'm mixing too many colors, too many patterns, too many fabrics. Yikes! Does my house look like an Easter egg exploded in it?? lol But I'm liking it for now — until I see something else that needs changing, rearranging, or morphing. lol!
xoxo laurie
I am so much the same. Can't wait to see more-your house is gorgeous.
Every time I have visitors, they play the "what has changed here?" game when they arrive!
I know what you mean about one little inspiration can cause a big change. Love your ideas. Throughmyporchwindow.blogspot.com
