My hotel room is reserved
my flight is booked and my bags are almost packed.
I am gearing up for several inspiring days in L.A. in just a couple weeks.
And I am excited to see my Design Bloggers Conference family
and be immersed in all things design and blogging.
I shared a bit about Design Bloggers Conference last year when I went for the first time. I was speaking on about working as a blogger with my friend Julianne Taylor from Taylor Burke Home.
I survived standing on stage and forgetting at least half of what I thought I would talk about…
and a surprise… I was honored to win the award for best photography on a blog.
But more than that- I met the most amazing people that have become friends- and made some incredible connections with companies I have since worked with.
And something fun- this time I am teaching a class with a sweet friend all about photography and styling for print. I was so excited that Jickie Torres who is the editor of Cottages & Bungalows magazine agreed to come on over to the conference and share her knowledge and tips and be my partner in crime.
Jickie Torres is the editor of Cottages & Bungalows and the Director of Content for the Lifestyle Group of Engaged Media which includes titles such as Atomic Ranch, Romantic Homes, Flea Market Décor and American Farmhouse Style. In addition to new product development, she is also a photographer and the lead scout/stylist for the group. She has 10 plus years of experience for home/interiors and believes the best rooms have something traditional, something personal and something a little bit scandalous.
We have worked together for several years but this will be the first time we have met in person and when we chatted recently- it was pretty much 30 minutes of non stop laughter.
It is going to be a fun class full of tips and ideas and bad jokes- and secrets. And in the divulging all the secrets aspect… I will be sharing a couple of things that I am most definitely guilty of
(and that has probably made Jickie crazy on several occasions.)

The best thing about this conference is you don’t have to already know a ton of stuff- you can learn it. And if you already do know a lot- there is stuff you will realize you didn’t know. And there are some incredible networking events as well.
You can find all kinds of info in last years conference recap post
and I will of course be sharing more after this one.
And you can also find more info about who is speaking (an incredible line up) and
details on how to get a ticket, etc. right here– and I hope to see you there!
And coming your way –
I am heading into the kitchen.
I will be sharing 5 things that you can do to update your kitchen (with budget in mind)
that will make it amazing- and it is all available at Lowe’s.
See you soon.
Happy Wednesday everyone.
