I went into Lowe’s last month in search of a perfect
little something to use for a holiday table setting
& gift idea for friends and family…
and I came out with a cart filled with inspirations,
gorgeous decor
and much, much more.
Seriously, Lowe’s is one of those places
that I cannot just run and out of and go on my merry way.
I linger, I browse, I imagine and I am inspired …
every time I walk in.
Remember I mentioned that new white & flocked tree that I will be sharing soon?
Yep, I found it at Lowe’s.
Love.
So I knew that I would find a bevy of beautiful elements for creating a simple project
for this months Lowe’s Creative Ideas project
which was all about the holidays and gifting, decorating and entertaining.
I LOVE entertaining
and I think one of the fun things about setting a table for friends and family
is to add that special touch-
like these little metal reindeer.
These are ornaments that were found in a pack of 4 at Lowe’s
Reindeer: perfect.
Cute details: yep.
Did I instantly imagine them looking a tad bit different? You bet.
Since they are a vintage inspired black metal finish
I immediately thought of chalk and names or a message
and how cute they would look on a table.
Seriously
so simple to make.
Here’s what you need:
Deer Ornaments
chalk
tiny tinsel for the wreath
sprig of juniper, berry, etc
First start by taking your chalk and rubbing it along the ornament
to season the surface-
Then wipe off with your fingers to give it a clean look.
Next up- add a little piece of tinsel wrapped around to create a sweet little wreath
and then tuck in a sprig of juniper, berry or fresh green for an accent
Write your guests name with the chalk
and place on your table and voila!
Even better- these are actually little ornaments
so you can send each guest home with a plate of cookies
and a gift for their tree. You can tie them to a package for a topper
and use them as a little sign that says
something like ‘Merry’ on it.
I love the idea of glittering and gilding these as well
and not using them with the names
The possibilities are endless!
But I am certainly loving them as simple, rustic place setting holders
on the table
and for around $1.50 each at Lowe’s – they are perfect.

I love it!! Giving an ornament is always my best go to gift!!! I am such a one isle shopper when it comes to Lowes going forward I need to just take my time and look at their Christmas items more closely.

Cute reindeer – they are the type of thing that you use over the years in various presentations. I like them as chalk board notes for the place cards. I need to take a look at the flocked tree at Lowes.
Didn't see these at Lowe's, Courtney. Now you have me wanting to go searching for these too. '-)
