These creamy seashell dishes are my favorites…
Love them layered together over scrolly metal chargers
and mixed with vintage silver.
A winters menu on the chalkboard…
the table is set for eight.
Delightful mossy green topiary balls in weathered tuscan clay pots
march down the table
Artichokes, apples and grapes welcome guests
to sit for awhile and enjoy the company,
conversation and food.
A favorite statue from the kitchen moves into the dining area
-Mr Rooster –
standing tall gracing the sideboard.
Cullan’s French Farmhouse table came inside for the winter
filling the dining space with character and warmth…
perfect for a winters gathering.

Hi Courtney,
A couple of things…did you make your chalkboard in the dining room, by the rooster? I have a few mirrors at my shop with minor damage that I put back to do something like this with. Seeing yours finally has inspired me to actually do it! I have most everything I need, I think anyway, but just hadn't gotten the motiviation/inspiration I was looking for until now. I was wondering if you did the gold leafing/painting on your frame and if you fitted a piece of wood into for the chalkboard…then painting it with chalkboard paint?
Also, I added your button to my featured page but there was no code for your 'featured button' so I just used your other FNF button…hope that is ok.
And lastly, I added your blog to my sidebar with some of the other blogs I love to read and keep up with. I hope you'll do the same.
again, I love the shell dishes in this post and your dining room is WONDERFUL!

Hi-I'm totally new to this whole blogging scene. I can't believe no one has asked what brand or what store you found your seashell dishes from? I don't know if it's "against the rules" to tell? But, I've been trying to find them on the Internet to no avail! I would love to purchase a set.

Hi Micaela,
They were from JC Penney years ago. I am not sure who the manufacturer is or where you might be able to find them now but a quick search shows there are some that look similar at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Hope that helps!
