Here are the pictures of those architectural salvage pieces I told you about a few days ago…
I was told they are side pieces of an old ornate piano or organ.
(Each side is missing a screw from each of those pieces that are hanging down.)
Dark stained oak, curvy and delightful lines and LOTS of potential!
So far, not thinking I am completely insane for dragging them home …
yet…
so that’s good!
I am not 100% sure-
but thinking of putting them atop the mantle and putting a mirror in between or something along those lines.
Or maybe use them as shutters?
I showed pictures of them upside down as well as it kind of changes the look a bit.
I would like to lighten them up with some shabby paint.
They are HEAVY and substantial and measure aprox. 4′ tall and 2.5′ wide.
Anybody have any ideas ?
~
Also, per your requests, here are the other finds-
the candelabras –
on the mantle.
I haven’t changed the decor for fall yet
(you guys keep inspiring me with all your fall updates!)
& I just had a few candles put in to show you how it looks.
A couple of the arms were broken when I bought them –
(they fell over in the bin the dealer was carrying them in on his way to the flea market)
so I got a better deal on them. 🙂
I was able to repair them using a ‘weld’ product from the hardware store.
(I noticed while taking this picture that I haven’t touched up the paint yet…
another thing on the to-do list!)
I think they are Art Nouveau?
If anyone knows anything about them, please share!

I am sure you are going to come up with something creative for those piano pieces…my mind can't think ahead like some of you bloggers who can see what something can BE instead of what is IS!! lol!! Good luck.
I love the candelabras!!

You manage to uncover the greatest finds. The architectural oak pieces are so ornate – I love all the curves. I totally can envision them flanking a mirror – would look stunning – with all the pieces painted in the same colour.

I love the pieces that you found. I would have bought them too.I would paint them(shabby Chic) and hang them or rest them on a wall where you have enough space. That would make a great look….Kathy

They'd make a gorgeous bed head board.
Or, how about using them as the outside edges of a bench – – – they might need to be cut down a bit for that.
You are so right – – – the details on them are just exquisite.
