I have a love affair with burlap.
I do
but it’s more of one of those love/hate relationships.
I love it’s nubby texture, natural look and sweet charm
But not so much some of the itched and allergies I get when working with it.
I have learned to wash it before settling into working with it because I
definitely love burlap for so many different things.

Pulling out long pieces of it to place over the table
for a Summer party tablecloth~ perfect.
It is perfect in simple form as drapes in the little cottage
and with all kinds of details, smockings and ruffles
I might be a little obsessed with it 😉
I love it in big amounts – like my ruffled burlap tablecloth
and in small amounts
like these little framed place settings.
Burlap get’s it’s fair share of love over here
and was the first fabric I thought of when setting this
sweet romantic Summer table
The first layer of it?
A simple length of fabric draped on the table for a cloth.

Something about that rough texture topped with those sweet pale pink spray roses
mottled mercury glass candlesticks
and elegant scalloped platinum edge china…
delightful.
delightful.
It’s pretty much perfection to this rustic & elegant loving girl
I also added something small and fun to the table this time~
these framed burlap place setting numbers
Love tables with place setting names or numbers –
they are always so charming
they are always so charming
I love numbered and monogrammed bits
and mixing the elegant look of monograms & the charm of numbers with burlap
oh yeah.

Even better- these took just a few minutes to make
and were only about $1 each. Bam. 😉 Perfect project.

and tomorrow
Jojo and Eloise is sharing this amazing idea for using burlap
It is a rare sprinkly kind of day in August here in Cali
so I am taking advantage of it and heading out for a jog this morning
Did you know I love jogging in the rain? Yep, I do.
Just as long as it’s not a torrential soaking downpour and is more of the sprinkle variety
😉
