With Christmas almost here-
I think it is safe to say that shopping for gifts has started to turn into a bit of a frenzy
if you are like me…
and are not quite yet all wrapped up
in that department.
It isn’t necessarily that you procrastinated…
maybe you just don’t know what THE perfect gift is yet.
What do you get for the man who has his favorite football sweatshirt
and mug and the latest and greatest gadget already?
Or your mom who loves something interesting with design
and decorating in the house
but doesn’t really want (or need!) any more tchotchkes.
Maybe some ideas for unique and interesting gifts would help?
From seating for the man cave
to your furry friends
to the antique lover
to the design diva in your life.
I thought I would share 10 ideas for finding inspiration for a gift or special person
inspired by unique, furniture, color, texture, details, etc.
spotted in
High Point Market showrooms.
It sounds random- but if you think about it- what you are drawn to or the person on your list
decorates with, what their style is, etc. you can use that to help find the perfect
and unique gift.
Maybe it is something simple like a pretty pillow wearing a pop of color
or a lucite and gold tray for a desk- just sharing some ideas for inspiration.
#1. Something Unique
Taylor Burke Home |
Because-look at this… it is awesome.
I love the whole look that is put together here.
From the color on the seating to the pattern on the stools to the blue and white to that
amazing Don’t Fret light from Taylor Burke Home.
Gift Idea:
Think unique and colorful
whether on a large or small scale for an unexpected on trend gift idea.
Geometric, patterns, details- and go for the bold.
A detailed vase or platter might be perfect.
#2. Crystals
John- Richard |
So elegant and glamorous –
these crystal flowers from John-Richard are so easy to bring in
and display in any room.
Gift Idea:
Something like crystals are great because no two are just alike
and you can choose one that talks to you.
Which really helps in make something like this a custom gift.
#3. A pop of color
Warm and cozy color and texture as seen at Loloi Rugs in their new throw line.
Loloi Rugs |
Gift Idea:
Pillows and throws to warm up the sofa or a favorite chair are a perfect
idea for that hard to buy for person on your list. Think of the colors and styles they like
and have fun shopping for the right one.
#4. A touch of glam
Bernhardt |
Gold and lucite together- this bed from Bernhardt knocked my socks off at Market
and I think gold and lucite is also a win-win for a gift idea.
Gift Idea:
Think elegant and glam whether on a small or large scale
with golds and silvers and details galore- such as jewelry or a tray for a desk or a vanity.
#5. Something Different and Fun
Gold Leaf Design |
I thought these lanterns from Gold Leaf Design were so fun.
These would be great for those grown up kids and ‘kids’ of all ages
Gift Idea:
Several paper lanterns together creates a dramatic and unique touch for a room
Think teenagers and college (and all of us really) who love design.
#6. Furry Friends Inspired
Sauder |
This table that doubles as a bed for favorite pets? Genius from Sauder Furniture
Gift Idea:
Because someone on your list might have limited space in their home and
combining function is a great idea-
a piece like a table or ottoman that does double duty is perfect.
#7. Man Cave Seating
Palliser |
Need I say more?
Those men… you know who they are.
They like to have that ‘man cave’.
Gift Idea:
Even if they don’t have a whole entire dedicated man cave room-
that guy can have a man cave chair with all the bells and whistles from Palliser.
And don’t forget a popcorn and treat bucket to go along with it.
#8 Blooming beauties
A painted floral desk like this one from Hooker Furniture?
Yes, please.
Gift Idea:
Floral painted details on a piece of furniture or picture frame or tray
are a beautiful way to give someone a gift that has a touch of charm.
#9. Something Dark
Think different.
The Noir Lamp from Lamps Plus is gorgeous and so unique.
Gift idea:
Something like a lamp with a dark color or dramatic shade
or a rich chocolate velvet throw brings a moody modern glam vibe to a room.
#10. Something Vintage
If you are a girl anything like moi- you love something vintage-
or even something vintage inspired.
Gift Idea:
A vintage mirror, a muslin covered chair or small footstool
or even a stack of ‘naked’ books
are perfect for that antique loving friend.
What about you?
Any unique gifts on your list this year?
Coming your way next week- a countdown to Christmas
recipes, packages and yes, more decorating…
😉
Hope your week has been going well!
