Happy New Years Eve everyone.
We are staying home and staying cozy this evening while waiting for the power to come back on with a lot of other folks in California right now. This storm has caused issues in so many counties for so many people it is crazy. I appreciate all the messages- we are all safe and okay. And doing better without power than many folks- we have piped water (not a well) and gas to heat and cook with. We are doing clean up currently – on our property and helping neighbors. Our boys came up to help and we were able to cut the tree across the driveway to be able to get in and out and remove the tree from the roof of the cottage. And the goats and chickens who have been camping out in the cottage are moving back to the barn today. The tree that was threatening to fall on it looks to be stable according to the tree guy that was here yesterday. I know they will be very happy to get back to their usual.
I will be back with my usual new year post next week- but I wanted to share a post from NYE past and wish you a safe and happy New Years Eve all!

Get some battery operated light bulbs…they work great in lamps or ceiling LIGHTS when you lose power. They need to stay charged, but that is simple and when we lose power I have lights that work by battery. Order from QVC or Amazon. They really do work. I keep ours in a lamp that I use periodically and bulb is always charged.
