Yes. That title has the word ‘Christmas’ in it. And yes, I do know it is June. I mean, June 29th is almost time for Christmas in July and I do already have a twinkling tree in the barn…
And you know what the best thing is about this project? It combines two things that I absolutely love. Christmas and fresh flowers. A sprinkle of Christmas cheer is perfect anytime of the year – and Christmas with fresh flowers? Even better.

This project was so much fun to work on. It started out with an idea for decorating a tree using natural touches and a ‘woodland’ theme. And it kind of meandered around into a tree that was perfect for summer with flowers.
Where I started
I started out with the color scheme of the tree -with the tree style, ornaments and picks. And that pointed me in a direction with the flowers.

We used a Balsam Hill Sanibel Spruce which is a beautiful soft sage color tree that creates a lovely backdrop for the ornaments and flowers.
For the decorations I chose natural bleached pinecone picks, a natural rich neutral ornament set along with beautiful beaded golds– and a new favorite- strands of battery operated LED pinecone garland. They are a GAME CHANGER folks. (and on Clearance right now!)

From there- I chose what flowers would fit the color scheme based on what my supplier had in stock- and got started.
Fresh Flowers & Greens
I ordered several favorites:
- White peonies
- Blush peonies
- Eucalyptus
- Dahlia
- Baby’s Breath
- Chocolate Lace

I wanted the tree to have an ‘earthy’ natural feeling. And chose filler foliage, chunky filler flowers and some smaller accents. Then I played a bit, tinkered here and there-and then called it good.

I love how this natural tree turned out- full of so many things that I love all mingling together with the magic of Chrismas.
You can see the step by step to creating this look and see the full reveal over on the Balsam Hill blog.
What do you think of this Christmas in June tree?
Disclosure: I work with Balsam Hill as their Brand Ambassador -but my love of Balsam Hill and Christmas in June is my own.
