This weekend is going to be a hot one. Lots of warm sunshine and hot temperatures are making me excited for summer days just around the corner. And summer means all kinds of outdoor living and entertaining.
Sweet Sage
If you follow me on Instagram- you saw a little vide with this sweet girl yesterday. This is Sage and she tagged along while I was working out in the cottage for a bit. Our silkies are really more like a cat or a dog- they come when you call their name, love to be picked up and held and follow us around when we are in the yard. Sage is a very sweet girl and even though she is starting up being a bit broody again- she is such a lovey.
Grand Dog Watching
We had two of our grand dogs in the house last week for a few days. This is Brady and Millie. Millie used to be a bit timid when she first came to the house- but after a few days of staying with us- she was snuggling up on our pillows and sleeping right by our heads.
Behind the Scenes
We spent early evening working out in the yard on a photo shoot for an upcoming project. Usually, I am running around like a wild woman as I set up- making sure everything is in the right place, getting the lighting just right, and everything goes together from the camera view. Last night- my husband joined in and got the fire in the pit flaming and smoking just right for photos. It has been a little while since he helped on a photoshoot- probably since I was working on Inspired Gatherings- but it made such a difference to have an extra set of hands I am thinking I might have to put him on the payroll permanently haha. ( and yes, my camera is a hot mess.
Garden Gatherings
I clipped a few of the roses that were blooming in the garden to bring inside. This a mix of this and that- mostly Eden, Eden White, Earth Angel and some rambling heirloom roses. I have to say- those Earth Angel roses smell SO. GOOD.
Red, White & Blue
In this post- sharing a couple of decorating ideas and thoughts for red, white and blue Memorial Day weekend.
Blackberry Lemonade
And one for the road- a recipe inspired by my book Inspired Gatherings- Blackberry Lemonade. Perfect for a hot day or anytime- and so easy to customize if you would like.

I am crazy about the EdeN Rose. May Not HAVE THE BEAUTIFUL fragrance of the antiques or david Austins but i love the look of the bloom, the abundance of blooms and the various colours it goes thru from bud to full blown ❤️
