The view this week has looked a lot like painting and finish work…
I am sitting outside this lovely cool summer morning
Sipping coffee and listening to the birds chattering, a rooster crowing in the distance and a few cows that our neighbor has on their property that love to talk a bit in the mornings.
It is an incredibly peaceful time of day and I have been setting my alarm to get up just a bit earlier everyday so that I have a little extra quiet time to enjoy it.
Painting
This past week- was all painting and finishing work on a project we have been working on. Every.Day. we were up early, tanking up on extra coffee and then working for about 8 hours.
Seriously a great workout- my arms are feeling extra toned this week- and extra sore. haha.
That shoulder that always gives me trouble – it did feel good to work it a bit more than I usually do. I have had to modify push ups and any kind of arm and shoulder work recently- and really expected it to lock up – but so far so good- just a little extra sore.
Shade of White
The paint color… for the house, for the cottage, for this project and several others- it is called
‘Du Jour’ and we used Valspar. We used a more expensive grade of performance paint on the house- and are completely sold on it. It is so thick and covers incredibly well.
For those who have asked- we use a semi-gloss for ease of washing and keeping clean and that little bit of oomph in the finish. I know that eggshell or matte is more preferred by most- I like that little pizazz a semi-gloss brings.

A little bit of bling
Oh yes… a little bit of bling. Or maybe a little bit MORE bling I should say.
This chandelier is going up in a room this week- a room filled with charm, character and lots of pretty…. stay tuned on just where it lands.

and a room reveal that I am SO EXCITED about sharing. We are so close to be being done enough to share – and I am itching to get started on photographing it already.
Also- lots of fall coming your way- I know it is early- but we start early as bloggers to be able to give you ideas for your decor.
And new items that arrived for my shop that will be coming in about 2 weeks… stay tuned for those.

Looking forward to seeing the finished painting! Are you painting the trim same color as walls? What about ceilings?
I can't wait to see where that chandelier ends up. It is absolutely STUNNING! I am just a little obsessed over here….
