Welcome to the weekend view
It is hard to believe that New Years Eve and a whole fresh new year is just around the corner!
I know I say it every year, but seriously. Where did the year go?
We were just welcoming 2018 the other day it seems,
and here we are getting ready to usher in another new year.
And I am so excited.
A busy year on the calendar ahead already-and I have so much to share with you coming in 2019.
Quite a few changes here on the blog- and lots of exciting things that I can’t wait to tell you more about are coming your way.
Tomorrow- a recap on 2018 and a welcome 2019 post in the New Year
are coming your way-
but today it is all about the week that was and the randomness of this and that.
Christmas
Christmas was a bit of a blur of busy and fun. We went to my moms house on Christmas Eve for a visit and then back home for a quiet evening finishing up wrapping and a bit of It’s a Wonderful Life. A quiet Christmas morning before the house was full of hustle and bustle and all the kids home (the BEST) and all the dogs too- it was a wonderful day spent just being together.
Simplicity
I am working on simplifying things in 2019.
From decor to fitness. I am streamlining a few things in the house- and changing a couple of rooms. Nothing crazy- mostly juggling and redefining. And in the living room- a new look is coming your way along with these pretty little sofas and a new vintage rug. Coming your way in the New Year- stay tuned for a giveaway to start the year off on a grand vintage note.
NYE Inspiration
Coming your way this afternoon- stay tuned for a post all about table settings and inspiration for your NYE table – including this look that was for Christmas but is so easy to do a quick change for ushering in the New Year with.
Keeping it short and sweet
A short and sweet weekend view this week. I have been enjoying a bit of down time away from the blog and social media this week. I have to say, this break has been wonderful. I rarely take too much time off but sometimes- you need to just center yourself and gather up some of that creative ‘chi’.
Spending time with my family and just ‘being’ in the moment & sleeping in a bit was incredible. And it also gave me some much needed energy to delve into some exciting things I have been working on behind the scenes that I cannot wait to share more about- and to reflect on the year that was.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful blessed Christmas and are enjoying a lovely week in between the holidays.
Happy weekend everyone.

Hello! !
Today 31st is New Year's Eve in Japan.
In the year end, we say “Yoi otoshi wo” to each other wishing for the coming
year to be pleasurable.
The New Year season is the most significant season for the Japanese.
All the Christmas décor is switched to the New Year’s in a blink.
Major New Year icons are the pine tree, bamboo, plums and so on. All of them are symbols of good fortune and longevity.
Ryoma.

Glad you had a great time with mom and family for Christmas. Thanks for family photo….cute with the fur babies! Looking forward to what you have for the New Year for us. I was shocked when I saw you were not editor of magazine….it was looking good! Happy New Year!
Courtney says
Thanks so much Nancy!! 🙂 Thanks for the kind words about the family! They are great- we had so much fun. And with RH- I apologize for disappointing you. I haven't been the editor for several months now actually. When my book was getting ready to release in August & focusing on some other exciting opportunities -it was time to resign. Happy New Year to you too!

I had to comment when I saw your remarks about RH. You did not disappoint anyone Courtney. RH has disappointed me for losing someone as talented as you. Those were some of the best issues I have seen from RH in a while while you were editor. Their loss not yours.
Courtney says
So sweet of you to say and thank you for taking the time the leave me a note. I appreciate your support and kindness so much and am so glad you enjoyed the magazine while I was working on it! Always wonderful to hear!!
