Fall is definitely in the air here in California.
Crisp mornings and warm sunshine filled days have been on repeat.
We are supposed to heat up again later this week- like we always seem to do in late September- and that means more outdoor entertaining ideas coming your way.
Last week I shared an amethyst, gold and white pumpkin table.
And in the mix of playing with flowers, adding pumpkins and tinkering with the glasses (that table is not flat by any means) I changed just one thing- and had an entirely different look.
Which got me thinking…
about tables, pumpkins, and stylings in general and how sometimes- one change makes it feel completely different.

With purple hydrangeas…
Both are so simple to create- just layers of dried hydrangeas and pumpkins
and then mix in your brassy golds- goblets, wine stems and flatware.

It changed the way the table looked – a bit less regal and quiet- but charming in it’s own way.
Pumpkin bouquet centerpiece
Always a popular and fun thing to do- creating a charming pumpkin bouquet.
This was so easy to do- just carve out your pumpkin and play with flowers.
And I love how it looks on the table.
Heirloom Pumpkin Centerpiece
So simple and easy- why not create a centerpiece with those favorite heirloom pumpkins we all love?
on a bed of eucalyptus and berries
and called it good. A simple and more natural centerpiece idea.
Eucalyptus and Golds
Another idea for using greens- a bed of eucalyptus or even a garland works perfectly.

I tucked a few silver brunia and white ranunculus to create a simple elegant style
and then mixed in the golds and rich aubergine.
Copper and green
Copper and greens are always a lovely choice for autumn stylings- and with so many options for those copper mugs and tumblers- it is easy to mix and mingle sizes and styles for a collected yet cohesive look.
I love to mix coppers and golds as well- but they do have some wonderful copper or rose gold options for flatware and tabletop elements if you want to keep a one metal look.
You can see an example here
And I shared a few more tips for inspired autumn tables in this post
I am off to play with an outdoor lounge area coming your way later this week
happy Monday everyone.

I downloaded this stunning book on my kindle on Saturday and finished it today after work. I have always loved the romance and elegance of a French country décor and intend to use my years studying interior decorating, as it was known in the 1990s, to decorate our forever home when we retire to Canada in 2020. Thank you Mrs Allison, just as you are inspired by unusual rustic shabby things I'm very inspired by your beautifully detailed book.

Thank your for your ideas. They are all beautifull. I love gold for Fall. I'm having a tea at my home in a few weeks and I made 3 velveteen punkins that I'm setting on a pedestal cake platep for a center piece. But I feel like I need something underneath the plate and I with will use some of your ideas. I love your blog. Victoria
