Can you believe that Easter is just a few days away? With the busy of the wedding reception and doing the florals and decor this week – I am a tad bit behind with Easter table and easter decor planning. So, this year more than ever- I am all about simple and easy ways to create a beautiful Easter table for guests.
Easter Table Ideas
It is a flower filled week over here for sure! I clipped some of the lilacs blooming in the yard and have an abundance of beautiful roses and blooms in the house at the moment for the reception- and am definitely feeling all things floral filled and pretty for the table. Today – sharing a few tips and tricks to creating a beautiful table for guests in just a few minutes.
1. Keep it Simple
Keep the centerpiece simple. A garland, a basket of flowers or even a few chunky pots of flowers. A simple centerpiece allows the place settings and other details on the table to stand out a bit more.
Use Faux. Don’t stress about not finding the perfect bunches of fresh flowers at the market- todays faux flowers are beautiful and perfect for enjoying on the table.
And faux flowers are budget friendly in that they are also a long lasting centerpiece- and can be repurposed for other spaces.
2. Customize Faux with Fresh
Tuck fresh into faux garland. A simple way to dress up a faux garland for a custom look is to take fresh flowers and tuck them into it. This can be flowers from the local supermarket or flowers from your yard- or even greenery. A touch of fresh will add a lovely scent as well.
We are doing a lot of fresh and a bit of faux for the reception- stay tuned for more on how I am doing that with the wedding reception tables coming next week.
3. Shop the Kitchen
One of my favorite places to shop for tabletop is the kitchen. The fruit bowl and veggie basket take on a whole new meaning when you are thinking about them as beautiful elements in addition to good food.
Use fruit. A favorite look for me is to mingle fruit with flowers. I love how the pieces of fruit become more like art when they are used for a centerpiece.
4. Place Setting Details
Add a place setting detail like a sprig of flowers. You can use mini jars filled with flowers, dried blooms or whatever you would like to add a touch of beauty to each place setting.
5. Mismatched Flatware
If your flatware drawer looks like mine with mingled patterns that have been collected over the years- don’t stress about matchy-matchy. Embrace the mix and go with it.
Mix and mingle vintage silver-plate and flatware for an eclectic and collected over time look.
6. Customize a bakery dessert
This is such a simple and easy way to create a dessert that wows guests – but in a snap.
Pick up ‘naked’ cake rounds or a simple cake, pie or other dessert at the market and add fruit and food safe flowers & herbs – Or faux flowers and herbs – for a custom look. Flower topped desserts are also a pretty touch when included on the table too.
7. Go for the Gold
A touch of gold on the table always adds an instant elegance.
Adding gold to your table instantly elevates the look. Think flatware, gilded glasses or chargers for place settings. Or tuck in some brassy gold candlestick holders for the centerpiece.
