Flowers belong everywhere in my opinion- painted on furniture, woven into bedding, covering wallpaper and artwork and even on pillows and rugs. One of the things I have been asked about over the years is where to find those beautiful floral vintage Aubusson style pillows- and today this post is all about a few floral needlepoint pillows that I bumped into while shopping recently.

So if you have been looking for a little vintage floral chic to add to your home- this post is for you.
Vintage Style Floral Needlepoint Pillows

I found several of these beautiful pillows years ago- and have been enjoying them in various areas of our home ever since. There is something sweet and nostalgic and charming about them.
Where to enjoy

I love to add a floral pillow in with others on the sofa for a collected look. On the bed is a perfect place for a larger pillow and of course, placing one on a chair or bench is a lovely touch also. If you have a pair of chairs- a pair of matching or color coordinated pillows is a charming look and if you have several sizes in cohesive colors, they look lovely on a window seat or sofa.

I shopped and saved some beautiful floral needlepoint pillows below. I can’t decide which is my favorite- but I might have a couple of these in my cart as we speak. *affiliate links
Happy Wednesday all!
When my maternal aunt passed away, I found in a box gorgeous embroidered pillow covers made by my grandmother when she was a young woman. The covers were made on some kind of canvas that has yellowed and stained and is beginning to rot. My grandmother designed them herself, and they are floral and just so beautiful! I was using them but began to fear the thinning of the material. I was contemplating having them framed instead, but I want to find a way to clean the yellow stains first, which I think are more just age stains than oil. Does anyone have any suggestions for me as to how to clean the delicate, thinning material without ruining the gorgeous colors and threads of the embroidered design? I don’t think I can put these two covers in the washing machine, and I know bleach would brighten the material but would also ruin it and ruin the color of the embroidery.
Hello. I majored in textiles. Often old textiles can be brought back to life with just rinsing them in water. Acid rain and other toxins in the air can be rinsed right out. Sometimes the water is so yellow that it looks like urine.Oxyclean is another product that will not damage the fibers. Good luck.
Hi Annette!
Thank you so much for sharing this- so helpful!
Thank you! I will try that.
Hi MaryAnn! I am not sure- but Annette replied here on the blog with a tip (if you don’t get an email- you can see it here)
They Are SO beautiful…I luv finding vintage needlepoint & repurposing. franki
I do to!
I buy every needlepoint pillow that I love!! Been buying them for years.
I love these pillows but they are pricey. I enjoy the muted tones which can be moved to different spots.
Oh wow, you just hit a nerve with me. All your choices are beautiful and I think, for needlepoint, many of them very reasonably priced. I had a sister who did needlepoint and it is quite time consuming, but beautiful. Thank you for sharing this inspiration! You are always inspiring, but I don’t usually take the time to respond.
I don’t see any affiliate links, and I haven’t seen any for several weeks. can someone help?
Hi Debbie, they should be in the photos of the pillows at the bottom of the post.
I’m so glad these gorgeous works of art are still accepted in the decorating world.
I would hate to see them thrown into our earth and forgotten. Thank YOu.
