Fresh greens
mixed garlands & wreaths
simple whites and a little bit of bling
All are some of my favorites for Christmas touches in a room.
Simple but elegant is perfect for me- it feels warm and inviting
and brings a special holiday magic & ambiance to a room
The dining room in our home is dressed quietly with just a few touches
of fresh greens mixed with whites
The oversized chalkboard is draped in a mixed pine garland.
I love the greens against the black board.
Fresh clippings of cedar are placed in the chandeliers
while white tureens filled with narcissus march down the center of the table.
A stack of simple but elegant white dishes
These are Mikasa and are some of my favorites for special table settings
and simple everyday elegance.
You might notice a little treat set on the table too
😉
I don’t make a ton of cookies and treats for the Holidays
but there are a couple that I do make every year.
This one is a favorite
I found the recipe years ago in a Pillsbury cookbook or magazine or something like that
and we have been making them every year since.
I like to place them in something pretty like little silver cupcake liners
to give as part of a treat for friends and family or to set out for a party.
We always use Hersheys Hugs- with white and milk chocolate
but I have made them with regular chocolate as well and they are de.li.cious.
I promised to share the recipe a couple weeks ago on FB
so here you go!!
This is the original recipe courtesy of Pillsbury
(you can also find it on their website)
Fudgy Bon Bons
Ingredients
1
(12-oz.) pkg. (2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips
1/4
cup margarine or butter
1
(14-oz.) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2
cups all purpose or unbleached flour
1/2
cup finely chopped nuts, if desired
1
teaspoon vanilla
60
milk chocolate candy drops or pieces, unwrapped
2
oz. white chocolate baking bar or vanilla-flavored candy coating (almond bark)
1
teaspoon shortening or oil
They are one of those cookies that it is hard to eat just one…or even just 5 of.
So enjoy responsibly- your workout routine will thank you
😉
