A little more romantic
and sweet for Christmas
and definitely not traditional red and green
My office is my favorite spot to get a little bit of my shabby on
At Christmas that means the decorations include
dried flowers mixed with gathered fresh greens and pinecones
I shared a peek of the tree earlier-
but here’s a little more.
I shared the tree in all it’s shabby glory in the Housewalk post
It’s a beautiful white tree covered in nothing but it’s pink baubles
I adore it.
It absolutely glows when it’s lit and is gorgeous even when it’s not.
It sits in the corner next to an old cast iron antique fireplace mantel
that is topped with oversized NOEL letters. You might remember these from my bedroom post
a couple years ago- they were on the shelf above my bed.
A found birds nest sits inside the O and holds a few dried roses
The handmade stockings hang from the mantel
you can find more about them here
On the other side of the room
is my work area- which is an old patio table that the glass was broken on.
We replaced the top with planks of wood instead of replacing the glass.
It sits in front of my grandmothers china cabinet.
Fresh greens and a little wreath are all it needs.
On my desk- a scattering of faux snow for a vignette with vintage ornaments,
paperwhites & roses
Off in the corner is the sitting area
by the windows.
The shutters have small wreaths
and a vintage settee
Love the beading and details on this vintage gown~ so intricate and gorgeous
DIY romantic Christmas wreath
I had several questions about the small green wreaths that are on the shutters with roses
and where to find them
I added the roses and they are so simple- they don’t require a tutorial.
I simply glued the roses to purchased wreaths –
I simply glued the roses to purchased wreaths –
it takes just a couple minutes and a hot glue gun
I chose a couple of the small roses that I had dried
you can also add pinecones if you would like.
For the wreath above the fireplace-
it originally was a 9′ length of full creamy white ‘berry’ garland found at the craft store
I shaped it into a wreath form and tied it together.
Just a few roses were tucked into this one- just enough to bring that little bit of romance.
You can also find simple grapevine wreaths at the dollar store or faux Christmas wreaths
and use those as well.
Hope that helps!
Happy Monday everyone!!
