Simple and fresh is a favorite Christmas front door look But this year- sharing 2 different looks that are completely opposite. One that is all about fresh greens and pretty touches that welcome guests as they arrive. The other is a London inspired doorscape full of colorful baubles and foliage that welcomes Christmas like Londoners do. The best part- they are both easy to do.
Christmas Front Door Decor
Fresh foliage on repeat is our first look. Beautiful garlands with berries and juniper accents are perfect for this style. I used 2 ten foot long garlands for this door and layered them on the top to overlap just a bit.

On the door, a fresh wreath says welcome. I love to customize fresh foliage with a lovely ribbon- this one has a burst of color with green velvet but you could choose any color and style ribbon that fits your home.

I tucked in a couple of fairy light lanterns for a bit of magic. Another simple way to dress up your decor is to add a sprig of greenery and ribbon to lanterns to coordinate with your door decor.

Fresh foliage outdoors will last quite awhile. We do have warm sunshine here in California- but also cool nights and some more moisture than usual in the air so our greens last for several weeks.

London Inspired Doorscape
Ahh those London inspired doorscapes get me every time I see them! Layers of foliage dotted with ornaments and lots of over the top and over the top fabulous style. While those doors capes aren’t practical for smaller porch areas- if you have a spot where you can be ‘extra’ and love the look- this post is for you.
Pretty Baubles

I was chatting with my Balsam Hill family about what type of London inspired door to do for Christmas this year and we kept coming back to bold and beautiful. So, walking on the wild side this year with this look. This doorscape started off with that colorful outdoor safe foliage. Dotted with pops of red and gold and bright colored berries- this is outdoor safe foliage that will last and last without concern of warm December sunshine.
To get this look- I used 2 ten foot garlands layered over 2 fresh garlands for a very full and thick looking door decor. At the base, I added two of the potted topiary trees to fill in the areas where the garland did not reach the deck. On the door- a wreath from the same collection for a bit more drama. Fun fact with this foliage? They are all lit foliage so they have twinkle lights intertwined. They come with timers and can be set to turn on and turn off daily. At night- they look magical.

Up next- those fairy light lanterns get an encore. Tucked around the base of the potted foliage they bring another layer of Christmas magic.
You could use any color, style or type of foliage for this look.
