They are such sweet little things and they come in all shapes and sizes. Vintage stools are a thing over here. I have a *few* of them and I am always on the lookout for another cutie to bring home. Today is all about a new to me stool and how to enjoy those sweet little charmers anywhere in the house.
Charming Wood Stools
Whether they are old and covered in patina from years of use or new with a charming style or look- wood stools are staples in our home and decor. I fall in love with them all the time- I just brought another cutie home with the other day. I walked past this old piano stool at the Re-Store and instantly picked it up and carried it around with me while I shopped. Yes, the trim is a bit wild & wooly (kind of how I am feeling these days haha ) but what a little sweetie it is even so.

Where to use Stools in Decor
Easy answer? Anywhere and everywhere. I love to use them in several rooms as little side tables, benches, etc. Sharing a few ideas below.

In the bathroom, I have a stool that holds various things like my bath salts, a candle or little bouquet of blooming beauty for example.
In the kitchen, there is usually at least 1 stool at or near the island.

In the potting shed- you will find vintage chippy old painted cuties along with new gathered up at the table. This setting is from my book IN BLOOM.

Tucked at the head of the table, a stool is perfect for extra seating.

Here’s a toss back photo for you! Back when the cottage looked like this- I used this green stool that is from my grandfather’s workshop in the kitchen.

I am always using various little stools to place bits on for photography. From bouquets of flowers to Christmas tree stylings and more.

And as extra seating at a table- like this setting that is also from my book IN BLOOM. You can grab In Bloom buy 1 get 1 50% Off right now

What is your favorite way to use little old stools?

I love stools and old wooden ladders! They are so beautiful if they are spatered with paint. I love to hang the ladders in my house along wooden peg railing. As a short woman, having a ladder always nearby is empowering! Stools are always great for a foot rest or to add more storage to a counter.
Allemaal erg mooi. De krukjes zijn geweldig.
Hi Courtney. I also have many varities of stools around the house and a rather extensive collection of ladders. at only four foot ten inches i keep a stool or ladder for harder to reach places close by. your posts always inspire me. Jackie, from canada
And, mine are “piano stools.” I have them, well, all over…

Love you new find! I also have a fondness for stools! I just purchased one that has metal legs with birds molded into them and a wicker top – so unusual and cool! I have one from france that I bought at roundtop. It is green velvet on top with buttons and beautiful gold and white detailed squatty legs. I also found one with a tiger stripe fabric and a gorgeous detailed metal base. These are just a few of my favorites. i use them in all sorts of ways – lots of time as risers. oh so fun!
