Setting a beautiful table is a favorite thing for me to do all year long-
but at Christmas I love to try to make it even more enchanting.
I shared a few peeks at an outdoor table I styled last week
I am always asked for more details on how to get the look
and so I thought I would share 5 simple tips for styling a table at Christmas.
This table is outdoors- but most of the tips would apply to a table set indoors as well.
1. Keep it natural
Look to nature when creating your centerpiece and place setting touches.
A few clippings of boxwood and pine, maybe a few sprigs of berries.
Just look around your yard and see what you can use to make a beautiful centerpiece.
You can also add in some whites- such as these alstroemeria or a soft pale green hydrangea
for a magical touch.
2. Tie a wreath
One of my favorite touches for the holidays
is to make a simple small wreath for the backs of the dining chairs.
This is cedar- and it was simply tied to the chair
for a festive touch.

you can read my DIY post HERE }
3. Winter Whites
I love white dishes all year long but especially at Christmas time
with all the fresh greens and pretty baubles- those whites just pop beautifully.
They don’t have to be fancy dishes- or even all matching patterns.
These white dishes are some of my favorites and you can shop the look at the end of the post if you would like a set of your own.
4. Light the way
The all important lighting.
Especially outdoors when there isn’t a chandelier above the table
So the lighting will need to be ambiance type lighting rather than bright lighting
Place lanterns on the ground around the table and on steps
and scatter candles on the table

to set the stage for a soft glow to enjoy the evening by.
5. Warm it up
As someone who tends to feel a little chilly even in warm weather sometimes
I always bring a sweater or coat with me when attending a party.
Something that you can do to make sure your guests are cozy and warm if the night gets a little chilly
is to add a soft throw to the dining chairs.
A warm faux fur throw like this one does double duty
Serving as a chair pad to sit on as well as providing something

I know that a throw is always something that I appreciate for sure!
Happy entertaining everyone!!
