A wee gathering of white pumpkins started appearing
on our bedroom mantel
Along with those little pumpkins I adore so much
I wanted to add something sweet and romantic
like faded dried rose blooms
dainty brown transferware teacups
and old white dishes.
Mixed with whites and pinks
this antique fire screen atop the mantel makes a perfect backdrop.
A few pieces of flea find brown transferware surround it framing it perfectly.
Just adore the mix of colors in the browns, pinks, whites and aged golds
and how they play together so beautifully.
It’s a bit shabby and elegant at the same time.
Which just happens to be my favorite combination.
I’m kinda loving it. Hope you week is off to a great start!!

I think that brown transferware is one of my very favorite things. I don't have any of it, but one of my neighbors has a large collection, and she has it displayed very creatively in her home.

Oh, I love your mantel! And the decorating of it as well! I have a gas fireplace in our master bedroom and have been looking for an amazing mantel to place around it, but have had no luck….I may have to break down and make one….not sure how I feel about that, but this one definitely makes me feel like I'd like to do it soon!
